Side Chick Era Over (Sharon and Carter) novel Chapter 452

Chapter 452

The stunning appearance of the four women caused quite a stir at the airport.

Many passersby mistook the four for celebrities and pulled out their phones to snap photos.

Aside from Sharon, the other three were completely unfazed. They had long grown accustomed to this kind of attention.

Walking beside Sharon, Carol Fraser asked, “Sharon, have you finally come around? Ready to pick your career back up?”

Sharon gave a gentle nod. “I’m sorry I haven’t kept in touch all these years, and now I’m suddenly reaching out to ask for your help.”

These three women were not only Sharon’s university classmates, they were also members of Bell University’s Hall of Fame. Each of them had become a leading figure in her respective field of music.

Two of them had even turned down invitations from Maestro Warner himself.

They came from prominent families, with ample support and resources. There was never a real need to become Warner’s student. Besides, the maestro was notoriously strict, and they were too free-spirited to be bound by such discipline.

While Maestro Warner was a musical genius, he didn’t excel at every instrument. Though the four women had frequently performed together during their university days and shared a close bond, each specialized in a different area of music.

The youngest and most vivacious of the group, Melanie Perkins, wrapped her arm around Sharon affectionately.

“We’re like sisters, Sharon. Why are you being so formal? But seriously, you’re ruthless. You disappeared for so long without a word!”

Genius attracts genius, and unsurprisingly, Sharon’s circle was full of them.

Back at Bell University, the four had formed a music ensemble and frequently traveled to compete and perform. Their group nearly took the music world by storm.

One of Maestro Warner’s own protégés had once been defeated by Melanie-so thoroughly, in fact, that she never recovered. Her fall from grace was swift and permanent.

Sharon lowered her voice. “I’m sorry.”

If that incident hadn’t happened, she would have likely stayed in Marcentine a while longer to pursue her career. The four of them had even made a pact: they would form a quartet.

Outside of joint concerts or competitions, they would continue studying or performing in their individual specialties. But whenever an important event came around, they would reunite as a team.

Unfortunately…

An accident changed everything for Sharon.

Carol looked at her and asked, “Sharon, what happened? You went back to Zachemaine and suddenly got married and had a child? Was it love at first sight or something?”

That period of her life had been chaotic. Her pregnancy symptoms were severe, and on top of that, she had to deal with Carter’s

mother.

The other three had either been studying abroad or tied up with performances and competitions, and over time, they fell out of

touch.

By the time their careers had stabilized, their contact with Sharon had completely ceased.

Only Ginny Blakely, who came from the most influential background, managed to find a way to reach her. The others had no clue how to track her down.

And with that, their plans to form a quartet were quietly shelved.

Sharon fell silent for a few seconds, then said, “I was invited to perform, and afterward, there was a celebration. I had a few too many drinks. I had just flown back to Amstern City and was still jet-lagged, completely out of it… and somehow, I ended up walking into the wrong room.

“The next morning, we cleared things up between us. But who could’ve guessed that one night would lead to a pregnancy?”

Melanie’s eyes widened. “Wow. That dramatic?”

Sharon smiled faintly. “Yeah.”

They chatted as they made their way out of the airport.

Outside, Wendy was already waiting behind the wheel of a car. When she saw them approach, she waved enthusiastically.
