Chapter 457
Victoria had that extraordinary beauty that comes once in a generation-heaven-touched, like fate itself had chosen her as its
favorite child.
Whenever Nate’s parents spoke of Victoria, they did so with a look of awe and humility, as if she belonged to a realm far above
their own.
“Whoever marries Victoria must have been a saint in their past life.”
“Honestly, someone like Victoria is out of reach for families like ours. We couldn’t even dream of her as a daughter-in-law.”
“Rumor has it some foreign King proposed to her, wanted to make her his queen. But her father turned him down flat. Makes you wonder what kind of man the Kalens are holding out for.”
“Richard would never settle for his daughter being just another wife in some royal harem. With Victoria’s pedigree, looks, and brains? She’ll land a man who’s perfect in every way, and who’ll love only her.”
In their eyes, Victoria was a goddess incarnate.
Their praise sparked Nate’s curiosity, but when he tried to look up her photos, he came up empty. Not a single picture existed
online.
Clearly, the Kalen family had gone to great lengths to shield her from the public eye-so much so that they wouldn’t even let her bear the weight of rumors.
Nate’s comparison between Sharon and Victoria was driven by simple curiosity. Just how much more beautiful could Victoria be?
To his surprise, Carter had implied they were equally stunning.
How was that possible?
Victoria had grown up with a silver spoon in her mouth. That aristocratic elegance alone could leave Sharon in the dust.
Nate looked incredulous. “Carter, aren’t you giving Sharon too much credit? How could she possibly compare to someone like Victoria?”
Carter turned to him. “Is Sharon that lacking?”
Nate opened his mouth, ready to bring up Sharon’s lack of education and her reputation as an airhead. But when he met Carter’s eyes, the words caught in his throat.
After all, Sharon was Carter’s ex-wife and Theo’s biological mother, Badmouthing her in front of him was tantamount to slapping both father and son in the face.
Besides… just on looks alone, Sharon really could fool a lot of people.
The first time Carter brought her to meet everyone, Nate had actually assumed she was some high-born heiress.
Changing the subject, Nate asked, “So, what do we do about these three women?”
Carter flipped through the documents. “I’ll call the heads of the first two families myself. As for Ginny… I’ll bring Kelly to meet her in person. If she refuses, we’ll drop it. She’s not irreplaceable.”
Nate had an idea. “Doesn’t Rick owe you a favor? Even if he and Ginny aren’t engaged, couldn’t he say a few words on your behalf? I heard the Blakely and Kalen families are old family friends. With Rick’s status, the Blakely family would definitely
listen to him…”
The more Nate spoke, the softer his voice became.

Even he realized it would be wasteful to cash in Rick’s favor on something so trivial.
The next day, Ginny was touring Sharon’s studio when she suddenly received a call from her older brother.
“Ginny, are you in Amstern City right now?”
“Yes, why?”
“A friend reached out to me. He wants to invite you to be a guest performer at a concert… Never mind, it’s too much to explain over the phone. Just go meet him. If you don’t want to do it, I won’t pressure you; you can just decline directly.”
Ginny had encountered countless invitations like this, so she wasn’t surprised.
“Alright, I’ll meet him.”
Not long after she hung up, her brother sent her the address.
Ginny had a notoriously poor sense of direction. Even with a map, she couldn’t quite figure out the layout.
Seeing her confusion, Sharon chuckled. “I know where this is. I’m free anyway. Want me to take you there?”
Ginny nodded.
The two left the studio and headed to the agreed-upon location.
At the door of the private room, they knocked. Then, pushing the door open, they stepped inside.
