Chapter 478
“Kelly.”
The voice on the other end was clean and pleasant.
“You haven’t been doing too well lately, have you?”
Kelly’s breath hitched. “I… I’m managing.”
A soft chuckle followed. “You’ve taken quite a beating from Sharon recently, haven’t you?”
Just hearing Sharon’s name made her grind her teeth.
He waited for her silence, then said, “Kelly, want me to help you?”
Her reply was instinctive. “No… no need. I can still handle it.”
The voice lifted slightly, laced with something unreadable.
“Oh? You really think you can handle it?”
“I… I can.”
He spoke again, voice slow and low. “But from what I’ve heard, Sharon’s phone has a recording that could ruin you.
“Tell me, if Carter were to hear that, would he still treat you the same way? And if your fans heard it, would they still love you? Your concert’s coming up. If the public got wind of that recording, would anyone still buy tickets?”
Her breath quickened instantly.
When Sharon had pulled out her phone earlier, she’d briefly suspected there might be no recording, that maybe it was just a bluff.
But she hadn’t dared to bet on that.
And thank god she hadn’t.
If she had, she would’ve been exposed on the spot.
That recording… she had to get rid of it. No matter what it took.
She couldn’t go to Carter. Right now, the only one she could count on was Nate…
As if reading her mind, the voice chuckled softly. “Kelly, don’t tell me you’re still thinking of asking Nate for help. That guy’s dead weight. Are you sure he’s really helping you, and not Sharon?”
She said nothing.
Nate’s loyalty wasn’t in question. But his stupidity? That was a whole other problem. He was so stupid it gave her a headache.
But even so… she had no one else to rely on.
The voice shifted tones, lighter now. “Don’t worry. I’ve already had that recording deleted.
She won’t be able to use it against you. It went missing from Xavier’s hands, so we might even stir up a little tension between them in the process.”
She let out a breath of relief. “Thank you, Thomas.”
Compared to Nate, Thomas Ferrero’s methods were light years ahead.

There was a brief pause, and then Thomas said, with a strange softness, “It’s been a long time since I’ve heard you say my name.

Kelly clenched her fist unconsciously.
“Kelly, I really want to help you. Freely. Without expecting anything in return. So why would you rather run to someone like Nate for help, but not to me?”
She said, “You’ve already helped me so much. 1… I don’t have anything to give you in return. I don’t want to owe you too much.
That’s all.”
“Kelly.” His voice sounded friendly, but there was an undercurrent that made her uneasy. “I’d never force you to do something you don’t want to do. And as for owing me, compared to the fact that you once saved my life, this little favor means nothing. If you really feel like you owe me… just play a few violin pieces for me sometime, when you’re free. That’ll be enough.” 1
She held her breath. “Okay.”
“I’ll be in Amstern City at the end of the month,” Thomas said casually. “Figured I’d stop by, take a look at you. And take a look at that man you’re so obsessed with. And the woman who had the nerve to hurt you.”
She wanted to say no. She really did.
But the moment he mentioned Sharon, every word she’d been about to say vanished from her throat.
She knew better than anyone what Thomas was capable of.
If he ever decided to make a move on Sharon, Sharon wouldn’t just lose, she’d vanish without a trace.
