Side Chick Era Over (Sharon and Carter) novel Chapter 490

Chapter 490

Though doubt stirred in her heart, Sharon couldn’t be bothered to waste her breath on someone like Nate. She cast him a glance,

then turned to leave.

But Nate misread her silence as guilt and quickly stepped in to block her path.

“So I was right, wasn’t I? You snuck in without an invitation!”

The moment he laid eyes on Sharon, Nate puffed up like a rooster ready for battle, completely forgetting everything his father

had warned him about.

He raised his voice, shouting, “Is there anyone in charge here? Someone just crashed the party without an invitation! A woman like this, with such ill intentions, should be thrown out!”

Just then, Carter and Kelly walked in, only to witness the scene unfolding before them.

Theo’s eyes lit up the moment he spotted Sharon.

“Mommy!”

He instinctively moved to run toward her, but Madeline caught him by the arm.

“Theo,” she said sternly, “you know how important today’s banquet is. Didn’t Grandma remind you about proper behavior?”

Theo hesitated for a beat, then lowered his head obediently and stood by her side.

Kelly hadn’t expected to see Sharon here either. But a moment later, something clicked, and realization flickered in her eyes.

She smiled. “Carter, I wonder if Sharon is here for you or for Maestro Warner. Why don’t we go and find out?”

Carter gave a faint nod. “Yeah. Let’s go.”

“I want to come too, Daddy,” Theo suddenly chimed in.

Carter remembered how long it had been since Theo had last seen Sharon. After a pause, he nodded gently. “Alright. Come with

us.”

Madeline’s face darkened slightly. She opened her mouth to object, but when she noticed the eyes of those around them, she

swallowed her words.

This banquet was far too important. She couldn’t afford to damage her reputation because of that woman.

Sharon was just about to leave when she heard a soft, honeyed voice call out behind her.

“Sharon,” Kelly said as she approached, “Maestro Warner is no longer accepting students. Sneaking in like this will only make things harder for him.”

Sharon turned and saw Kelly gliding forward like a picture of elegance, holding Theo’s hand and walking beside Carter.

The three of them at this moment looked like the perfect, happy family.

Before Sharon could say a word, Kelly continued, “Sharon, the maestro is getting older and his health isn’t what it used to be. I hope you won’t trouble him any further.”

Kelly didn’t believe Sharon had come for Carter. But she couldn’t forget the last time she saw Sharon all but begging Maestro Warner for a chance. It had left her with a lingering sense of unease,

Sharon was immensely talented. Kelly didn’t want to admit it, but in terms of natural ability, Sharon had the edge.

In fact, Maestro Warner had nearly accepted Sharon as a student. If Kelly hadn’t seized the opportunity first and officially

become his last student before Sharon met him, that final apprenticeship spot might very well have gone to Sharon.

“Sharon, what are you doing here?” Carter asked.

He was dressed in a tailored black suit, his figure striking, tall, slender, and upright.

Sharon looked at the group before her, her expression cold and detached.

“I don’t owe any of you an explanation for why I’m here.”

She had only come to speak with the lighting technician about some entrance cues. She hadn’t expected to run into them. What rotten luck.
