Chapter 537
The more flawless someone appeared, the more suspicious they became. But without solid evidence, Uriah wouldn’t make reckless accusations.
Still, the likelihood was high that the guy had probably taken a liking to Sharon and deliberately approached her.
Given how far Uriah had gone in laying things out, Sharon couldn’t refuse him outright.
“Alright.”
A satisfied smile appeared on Uriah’s face.
Sharon chatted with him a little longer before taking her leave.
Just as she stepped outside, her phone rang.
She glanced at the screen and immediately recognized the number. It was Carter.
Why was he calling her?
Sharon instinctively declined the call.
A minute later, the phone rang again.
She rejected it once more.
As far as she was concerned, there was nothing left to say between them.
But moments later, Julliard’s name appeared on her screen.
Her heart sank. After a brief hesitation, she answered.
“Sharon,” Julliard’s voice came through, unusually serious. “Theo has been kidnapped.”
Sharon’s face went pale. “What happened?”
“It’s the weekend,” he explained. “Kelly took Theo to the amusement park, and they were both abducted. Sharon, do you have time to meet us and go over everything together?”
No matter how disappointed she might be in Theo, he was still her son—her child born from ten months of pregnancy.
With something like this happening, there was no way she could stay uninvolved.
“Where are you? I’ll come find you.”
Julliard hesitated briefly before saying, “Carter’s already on his way to pick you up. He should be there in ten minutes or so. Wait for him.”
At that moment, Sharon couldn’t afford to dwell on her personal grudges with Carter.
“Got it.”
After ending the call, Thomas noticed her ashen face and asked, “What’s wrong? You look terrible.”
Sharon didn’t hide it. “My son’s been kidnapped.”
“You have a son?”
“Yes. Why?”

Carter replied casually, “You don’t look like someone who has a child.”
Sharon had no patience to argue. “I need to go find him. You should head back. Wendy has already rented an apartment for you.”
Carter shook his head. “No. I don’t have a phone or any money. If I get lost, I won’t be able to contact anyone.”
Sharon frowned.
She could give him some money, but not her phone. Now that Theo had been kidnapped, she needed to keep her line open at all
times.
After thinking for a moment, she said, “I’ll call Wendy to pick you up.’
Thomas gave her a skeptical look. “You’re not trying to ditch me with a new excuse, are you?”
But Sharon was far too preoccupied with Theo’s abduction to argue.
Carter had money and power-and plenty of enemies, no doubt. Still, in all the years she’d been raising Theo alone, nothing like this had ever happened.
But the moment Kelly took him out, he was kidnapped?
Her fingers curled into tight fists.
Ever since Kelly returned, Theo had not only eaten cake but also consumed nuts, despite being allergic.
A dull ache crept into her heart.
Her son trusted, even adored, a woman who had destroyed their family.
Lost in thought, she was startled by the sudden arrival of a black sedan pulling up beside her.
The window rolled down, revealing Carter’s sharp, handsome face.
He seemed about to speak, but the moment he noticed the man standing beside her, his expression turned cold and stormy.
