Chapter 539
Xavier listened to Sharon’s account and said, “Don’t worry, I’ll send someone to help with the search right away.”
Beside her, Carter watched Sharon make her calls, his brows twitching slightly, but in the end, he said nothing to stop her.
Next, Sharon called Uriah.
Upon hearing the news, Uriah took it very seriously and immediately sent people out to assist.
As for Ginny and the others, Sharon didn’t call them. Their influence didn’t reach Amstern City, and they likely wouldn’t be able to help in Theo’s case anyway.
Even after exhausting her list of contacts, the worry on Sharon’s face didn’t ease.
Carter glanced at Thomas through the rearview mirror and said coolly, “He’s coming with us. Is that going to be a problem?”
Sharon understood what Carter was implying and replied, “No problem. He doesn’t even have a phone right now.”
Even if Thomas had approached her with ulterior motives, he had no way of communicating with anyone at the moment. She wasn’t completely letting her guard down around him.
Carter drove them straight to the Biggs family’s estate.
Inside the Biggs family villa’s living room,
Madeline and Denise were pacing restlessly, anxiety etched across their faces. 1
Julliard was on the phone, making call after call.
Sharon followed Carter into the house.
The moment Julliard saw her, a flicker of light appeared in his eyes. It had been a while since he last saw Sharon.
“Hey, Sharon,” Julliard greeted her, his voice unexpectedly hoarse.
Sharon paused briefly, then gave him a polite nod. “Julliard.”
The moment Madeline saw Sharon, her expression darkened.
After learning of Sharon’s connection to Uriah, she had felt a brief pang of regret. But deep down, she knew the rift between them was unbridgeable. Even Theo wouldn’t change that.
The better someone she disliked was doing, the worse Madeline felt. And though she wouldn’t admit it, there was a touch of jealousy toward Sharon buried in her heart.
“What is she doing here?!” Madeline snapped, eyes hostile, voice ice-cold. Pointing at the door, she barked, “You’re not welcome here. Get out!”
Sharon’s expression cooled. Without a word, she turned to leave. (1)
Carter instinctively grabbed her wrist. “Where are you going?”
She said coldly, “Didn’t your mom just tell me to get out? So I’m leaving.”
Carter frowned and looked at his mother. “Mom, can you stop making things worse at a time like this?”
Madeline stared at him in disbelief. “You’re saying I’m making things worse?”

Carter’s voice dropped, low and frosty. “Theo has been kidnapped. As his mother, she has a right to know.”
Madeline scoffed. “And what good does it do for her to know? Can she get Theo back?”
Sharon chuckled. “Then let me ask, does it help for you to know? Are you going to rescue him?TM”
“You” Madeline was at a loss for words.
Carter cut in before their argument escalated. “Enough. Stop fighting. Theo’s situation is more important.”
Madeline opened her mouth to speak again, but Denise tugged on her sleeve, signaling her to stop. She thought her mother must be losing her mind. Sharon now had powerful backing, yet her mother still had the nerve to challenge her. Was she asking for trouble?
Seeing the tension, Julliard finally spoke up.
“Theo’s been kidnapped. It’s natural that Madeline is upset and might speak harshly. Sharon, I hope you won’t take it personally.”
He paused awhile, then added, “Carter, Madeline’s not young anymore, and she’s been worried sick. Why don’t we let her go upstairs and rest for a bit?”
