Side Chick Era Over (Sharon and Carter) novel Chapter 558

Chapter 558

Wendy blinked in surprise. “I thought you didn’t know anything about music. How do you know about First Love?”

Thomas replied, “I heard Casey playing it earlier on the piano as we came upstairs. It sounded beautiful, and I was curious what it would feel like to hear it performed with that violin.”

Shaluna was a renowned violin, exceptionally rare and valuable. Many who heard of it were eager to experience its sound for themselves. When Casey first learned about the violin, she too, had once made a similar request. So no one found Thomas’s

interest unusual.

First Love was set to be the opening piece of their upcoming concert. Though technically demanding, Sharon had composed it herself and had practiced it for years-it was second nature to her by now.

She didn’t hesitate. “Alright.”

Taking up Shaluna, she was just about to play when her phone suddenly rang.

Her brows twitched slightly. It was Carter.

A few seconds passed before she answered.

“What is it?”

Carter replied, “Are you free? Could you come to the hospital for a moment?”

Sharon had a vague idea what this might be about. “Does it have to do with the kidnapping case?”

There was a short pause before he replied with a quiet “Yes.”

“I understand. I’ll be there,” Sharon said.

After ending the call, she turned to Thomas. “Something came up. I’ll have to step out. I’ll play the piece for you another time.”

Since Thomas would be staying to help with the music team, there would be plenty of opportunities in the future.

He nodded without pressing. “Of course. Please, go ahead.”

Just as Sharon was about to leave, Wendy stopped her. “Sharon, want me to come with you?”

She had picked up on a few things from Sharon’s side of the call. If Carter was calling her over at this hour, it probably wasn’t for anything pleasant.

Sharon shook her head. “No need. I’ll go alone.”

Wendy looked concerned. “But-”

“Don’t worry. For Mr. Malcolm’s sake, they wouldn’t dare do anything to me.”

Sharon had Uriah backing her now. Wendy’s expression softened a little. “Alright then. But if anything happens, call me right

away.”

Sharon gave a quiet nod and left for the hospital.

Pushing open the hospital room door, she found the room unexpectedly crowded. Inside were Carter, Nate, Theo, and even Julliard.

The sight of Nate’s bruised and swollen face made her blink in surprise.

Had he been in a fight?

Though Nate was always loud and brash, brawling wasn’t really his style. It clashed with the carefully curated image of a wealthy heir. Usually, he left the dirty work to his gang of spoiled, rich friends.

Maybe this was karma finally catching up to him.

That thought flashed through her mind as she quickly looked away.

Sharon stepped forward. “You called me here in such a hurry. What’s going on?”

Nate let out a cold snort. “You were the one who orchestrated Kelly and Theo’s kidnapping, weren’t you?”

Sharon’s gaze swept the room. Everyone wore a different expression.

Theo looked at her pleadingly, his young face tangled in anxiety.

Julliard’s eyes held visible concern.

Kelly looked tom, like she wanted to speak but didn’t dare.

Carter, on the other hand, remained unreadable.

“I have no idea what you’re talking about,” Sharon said, her voice flat.

Nate scoffed, exaggerating his expression. “Wow, look at you. Your acting is so convincing. It’s a shame you didn’t win an Oscar. With acting skills like that, it’s a damn tragedy.”

Sharon couldn’t even be bothered to glance his way. Instead, her eyes landed on Julliard.

“Did you catch Dillon?”

Julliard started to shake his head, but before he could speak, Nate cut in with a shout.

“You even know the kidnapper’s name, and you still won’t admit it? Sharon, come clean. Why did you kidnap Kelly? What was your motive?!”
