Side Chick Era Over (Sharon and Carter) novel Chapter 589

Chapter 589

As she spoke, something seemed to occur to Kelly.

“Carter,” she said, “do you think Sharon suddenly wanting a divorce has something to do with Uriah? Maybe he promised her something?”

Before Carter could answer, Nate’s face lit up with surprise.

“Wait a sec, isn’t that the pretty boy we saw at the hospital last time? What’s he doing with Sharon?”

He turned to Carter with a grin that quickly twisted into suspicion.

“Carter, you think that guy’s her secret lover? A little toy boy she’s been keeping on the side?”

Kelly hadn’t paid attention at first, but at Nate’s words, her eyelid twitched and she glanced over.

Then she froze.

It was Thomas. Why was he here?

As if sensing her gaze, Thomas, who had been speaking with John, turned and looked directly at her.

His face showed no sign of panic. No discomfort. Instead, he lifted a hand and waved lightly, smiling at her brightly and casually, as though he had nothing to hide and nothing to fear from being seen.

Kelly felt her heart leap into her throat.

What the hell was Thomas doing?

She quickly realized he was sitting among Sharon’s group. And from the familiar and relaxed way Wendy and Sharon spoke to him, it was obvious they knew him well.

Suddenly, her memory snapped back to what Thomas had said that day at the hospital.

He’d told her he had a surprise for her.

This was the surprise?

More like a nightmare.

Nate noticed Thomas’s gaze and swore under his breath.

“Damn That pretty boy’s actually trying to provoke us!”

He mustuck Thomas’s smile for a deliberate laul and flew into a rage, unleashing a stream of expletives loud enough to turn

Julliard smiled. “There’s a painting today I’m interested in.”

Nate looked at him like he’d lost his mind. “What’s the point of buying these old scraps? AI-generated stuff these days isn’t any worse than what those so-called masters used to do.”

Julliard said evenly, “No matter how perfect Al gets, it’ll never match the emotion of a painting made by a human hand.”

Carter shot Nate a glance. “Julliard rarely comes to these things. Keep your voice down.”

This auction had been Julliard’s idea. He’d specifically asked to attend. Usually so composed and easygoing, he almost never expressed a strong interest in anything.

Carter was curious himself—what kind of painting could draw that kind of focus from Julliard?

Meanwhile, Kelly’s thoughts were in complete disarray. She couldn’t believe Thomas was sitting next to Sharon.

What was he playing at? Was he trying to get close to her to gather intel? Was he planning to steal her music scores? Or poison her slowly?

No-probably not.

Sharon had mentioned before that her compositions were backed up. Even if they were lost, she could prove she was the original

creator.

And besides, such crude tactics weren’t even beneath her, let alone Thomas.
