Side Chick Era Over (Sharon and Carter) novel Chapter 652

Chapter 652

Victoria’s eyes immediately fell on Carter and the people standing beside him.

“Which one are you talking about?” she asked. “Carter’s friend, Julliard?”

Johanna shook her head. “No. The other one.”

Victoria’s gaze shifted to the tall, refined-looking man.

At that moment, many others in the crowd were sneaking glances in the same direction.

Carter, Julliard, and Thomas-wherever they stood, they drew attention. Their looks and their bearing made it impossible to look away.

“I don’t know him,” Victoria said, “but I think I’ve seen him withr Sharon before. At the auction, he seemed to be with her. He’s probably a friend of hers.”

Johanna’s eyes never left Thomas’s face. “He’s… different.”

Victoria turned to her with a teasing smile. “You’re interested in him?”

Johanna didn’t bother denying it. She admitted frankly, “Yes. I am.”

Her forthrightness surprised Victoria. She studied Thomas more carefully, reassessing him.

He was indeed handsome, so much so that even compared to her three brothers, he would still stand out. Standing beside Carter and Julliard, he wasn’t overshadowed in the slightest.

No wonder Johanna had noticed him.

Victoria laughed. “So you have a weakness for handsome men.”

But Victoria’s definition of “handsome” was demanding anyone she called that had to score at least a ninety-five in looks.

Both she and Johanna were daughters of powerful families. Suitors swarmed around them, many of them attractive, many also capable. Yet Johanna dismissed them all without a second thought.

That she now showed interest in a man of unknown background but outstanding looks genuinely surprised Victoria.

Her own standards were different: appearance mattered little so long as it was passable—an eighty-five was enough. But family background and ability were nonnegotiable. She had no patience for men who were pretty but useless.

Theo’s eyes lit up when he saw her. “Aunt Victoria.”

Victoria’s smile warmed as she approached. She reached out to gently ruffle his hair, her tone kind. 1

“Are you here to cheer for your mom?”

After learning that Sharon played the violin, Victoria had immediately guessed she would take part in a competition like this.

For a moment, Theo froze, then nodded instinctively.

He wasn’t sure whether his father had brought him here to find Kelly or to look for his mother. But since he hadn’t seen Kelly vet, and he’d already cheered for his mom earlier, this counted as coming for her… didn’t it?

Carter turned his gaze on Victoria. “Victoria, what brings you here?”

Victoria replied with an easy smile. “The winner of this competition will represent Zachemaine in the international finals. I’m one of the contestants representing Marcentine. I came to see how strong Zachemaine players are.” 1

For fairness and transparency, this round of the competition was open to the public.
