Matty cheered enthusiastically. “Yay! Let’s celebrate Sharon getting first place!”

Sharon hadn’t seen Matty for a long time. She said, “The next competition won’t start for another three days. I don’t have much to do in the meantime. Would you like to stay at my place for a few days?”

Matty’s eyes lit up immediately; he was about to agree eagerly. But then a hint of hesitation crossed his face.

“Sharon, you have a concert to prepare for and competitions to attend… if I stay with you, won’t it affect your practice?”

Sharon shook her head with a smile. “Not at all.”

Wendy chimed in from the side, “A balance of work and rest-nothing wrong with that.”

John nodded. “Sharon has been working intensely lately. She really could use a couple of days off.”

Sharon herself had the same thought. She wanted to take advantage of the free time to spend two days hanging out with Matty. Soon, finding another stretch of free time would be much harder.

Looking down at Matty, Sharon said, “Matty, how about I take you to the amusement park tomorrow?”

Matty’s voice rang out clear and bright, his eyes sparkling. “Yes!”

The group headed to the restaurant together. Once seated, Wendy glanced around and suddenly asked, ” Sharon, did you see Thomas today? Why isn’t he here?”

Sharon replied, “He has something to do today and asked for a day off.”

Wendy tilted her head. “It’s pretty late now. He should be done by now. I’ll give him a call.”

She pulled out her phone and dialed Thomas. The call was brief, and she returned with a smile. “He says he’s done and will be here soon.”

Xavier, sitting to Sharon’s right, suddenly asked, “Sharon, has Thomas still not remembered anything?”

Sharon shook her head. “Wendy and I have taken him to several hospitals for check-ups. The results were always the same.”

Xavier looked at her seriously. “Sharon… if he never remembers, are you planning to let him stay here forever?”

Sharon was a little surprised. “I’ve never thought about that.” She believed that Thomas would remember eventually it was only a matter of time.

“My people have been investigating his identity,” Xavier said, his eyes dark and intense, “but they’ve found nothing. Sharon… I suspect he isn’t an ordinary person.”
