Theo.

Just then, a pale figure lowered herself into the seat beside Carter.

Startled, he turned. “Why are you here? With your condition, aren’t you forbidden from riding things like this?”

Kelly lowered her voice into a soft murmur. “My health has improved a great deal lately. Besides, Theo just said that if one never exercises, the body will only grow weaker. I’ve never ridden a pirate ship before. I thought… why not give it a try?”

With a single sentence, she neatly shifted the blame onto Theo.

After the safety officer checked everyone’s restraints, the pirate ship began to sway. At first, the motion was gentle. The ship was massive, and its rocking was smooth, hardly enough to
