Side Chick Era Over (Sharon and Carter) novel Chapter 751

Chapter 751

If Thomas hadn’t made the desperate choice to ram the pursuing vehicles, the assassins would have kept coming. There was no other exit, no other path to freedom. The situation would only have escalated, growing more perilous by the second.

In that moment, Sharon couldn’t help but feel a cold spike of awe at the sheer, terrifying sharpness of Thomas’s instincts.

Just then, the doors to the emergency room finally swung open.

The unconscious Thomas lay perfectly still on the gurney, while a faint, ghostly glimmer flickered deep within Xavier’s eyes.

When Thomas finally woke, the television in the ward was broadcasting the news. The sound of a woman sobbing spilled from the screen.

“My name is Abigail Lawson,” the woman sobbed. “I was supposed to be Sharon’s partner for the ensemble performance. I don’t know what I did to offend her, why she would abandon me without a single word and not show up for the competition.

“I know my ability isn’t the best. I knew it would be difficult for us to achieve a high ranking. But… I wasn’t willing to give up without trying. Even if we lost, even if I was

eliminated, I could have accepted that. But to be defeated like this, before I even had a chance to compete… I just can’t accept it.”

A reporter asked, “Did the organizers give any reason for Sharon’s absence from the competition?”

Still weeping, Abigail replied, “No. In fact, no one has been able to reach her. I think… perhaps during rehearsals, I made too many mistakes and upset Sharon. Maybe she just

didn’t want to partner with someone as weak as me.’

Another reporter snapped angrily, “Talent is no excuse for arrogance! For someone with

such a blatant lack of professionalism to win first place is an insult to every other competitor here. And if she’s meant to represent our country internationally, she’ll become a national embarrassment! The organizers have a duty to disqualify her immediately!”

Just then, a soft knock sounded at the door of the hospital ward.

Wendy leaned in, her expression urgent. “Sharon, it’s worse than we thought. Abigail is using you to launch her own publicity campaign. She didn’t just give interviews to every major outlet-she’s playing the ultimate victim online, spinning lies that you looked down on her during rehearsals.”

“She’s framing your absence as a deliberate snub. The implication is perfectly clear: winning or losing this round means nothing to you because your spot in the finals is guaranteed.”

Wendy was about to say more when Sharon gently cut her off. “Wendy, let’s talk outside.”

Wendy glanced at the still-unconscious Thomas and nodded.

The two stepped into the corridor, not daring to go far, afraid he might wake up anytime.

Wendy lowered her voice. “The public opinion online is turning against you. Even though I’ve already released a statement clarifying that you were in a car accident and injured your hand, netizens are refusing to believe it.”

She paused, her expression bitter. “They’re saying they’ll only believe you’re truly hurt if you withdraw from the competition later. But if you do compete, they’ll take it as proof you skipped on purpose.”

Wendy let out a cold, disdainful laugh. “Their intention couldn’t be more transparent-they just want to force you to withdraw. The sheer malice of it!”

Sharon’s voice remained preternaturally calm. “Don’t worry. I won’t be swayed by a mob.”

Wendy frowned. “Kelly will never let an opportunity like this slip through her fingers. And as for Abigail-she’s clearly using you for a publicity stunt. With her level of skill, she’d never make it to the finals on her own merit. But by attaching herself to your name, she’s

soaking up the spotlight.

“You should see it-right after this blew up, she opened a new social media account. She’s gained hundreds of thousands of followers in a matter of hours. I’d say she’s strategically positioning herself as your rival.”

If Abigail had played by the rules, she would have remained a forgettable footnote, her name fading into obscurity the moment she was eliminated.

But Sharon’s withdrawal had handed her the spotlight.

Under normal circumstances, this burst of infamy would be short-lived, and she would

inevitably fade back into obscurity.

So why settle for a fleeting moment when she could gamble on a bold, permanent move? She had decided to bet everything on making herself Sharon’s designated antagonist.
