Side Chick Era Over (Sharon and Carter) novel Chapter 768

Chapter 768

Soon after, the remaining nine contestants jointly signed a withdrawal letter. If Sharon refused to quit, then they would leave instead. They would hand her the championship on a silver platter-an undisputed first place.

When Wendy saw the news, she nearly exploded with rage.

“Sharon, can you believe this? They’re ganging up to pressure the organizers, forcing you out! Their scheming is so shameless, I feel ashamed on their behalf!”

As professionals, no one understood better than them the true level of Sharon’s skill. They knew she had genuine talent, yet still chose to smear her name, as if destroying her reputation would somehow benefit

them.

Sharon remained calm. “What’s the organizers’ stance?”

“They haven’t compromised,” Wendy replied. “Right now, they’re going around talking to each contestant, trying to smooth things over. They’ve asked us to hold our ground too. Their position is clear-this isn’t our responsibility, and we shouldn’t be made to bear the blame.”

Hearing that, Sharon’s heart softened.

“I thought the production team would bow to public pressure and to the contestants and force me out.”

Wendy snorted. “This competition has had scandals before, yet no one ever protested this fiercely. Now that you’re strong enough to crush the foreign players, they’re acting like they’ve lost their last shred of dignity, insisting you be eliminated. Isn’t it obvious? They’re picking the softest target to bully.

“The organizers suspect some of our contestants may have been bribed by foreign interests. Situations this lopsided usually mean one of two things: either public anger is real, or someone is stirring the waters for their own gain.

“The average viewer might not know your true ability, but do you really think the organizers don’t? Sharon, they’re handling this. For now, we don’t need to waste our energy there.”

Sharon asked, “And the evidence of Abigail’s slander-how’s that coming along?”

Wendy’s lips curved into a sly smile. “All collected. We’re just waiting for the right moment to deliver the

fatal blow.”

Sharon nodded. “Good. Let’s keep it that way.”

Just then, Thomas suddenly spoke. “Sharon, didn’t you say this competition wasn’t something you absolutely had to attend? With all this public pressure mounting, why push yourself to stay?”

“Because the organizers haven’t given up on me,” Sharon said evenly. “So I have no reason to give up on the competition.”

Thomas studied her. “So, it is important to you after all, isn’t it?”

“No matter how important it is,” Sharon replied softly, “nothing is more important than life itself. Focus on healing your injuries. Don’t overthink.”

She turned her gaze to Wendy. “When’s the next round?”

“Next week,” Wendy said. “But it’s not the ensemble stage yet. They revised the rules, so contestants need time to find duet partners. The later rounds are being pushed forward in the meantime. Oh, right, how’s your hand? Will it be healed by then?”

“Fully healed? Probably not,” Sharon admitted. “But it shouldn’t stop me from competing.”

As she spoke, a faint smile curved her lips. “Theo’s ointment is working wonders. The wounds are healing much faster than expected.”

Wendy chuckled. “Ever since your divorce, Theo has been far more thoughtful. He even came by yesterday to bring you more ointment.’

Something flickered in Sharon’s eyes. She reached into her bag, took out the ointment, and offered it to

Thomas.

“Thomas, this works really well. Want to give it a try?”

Thomas glanced at the ointment in her hand. “Alright.”

His worst injuries were to his artn; the rest were internal, which only time could mend.

Fortunately, Sharon had once studied pharmacology under Uriah. She could at least prepare meals to help nurse his recovery.
