Side Chick Era Over (Sharon and Carter) novel Chapter 772

Chapter 772

Knowing Sharon had a competition, Thomas insisted on attending no matter what. Neither Sharon nor Wendy could dissuade him, so they had no choice but to let him come along. Fortunately, Xavier had arranged for enough bodyguards; ensuring Thomas’s safety posed no problem at all.

The competition proceeded in an orderly fashion. The contestants performed steadily, all except Abigail, who faltered again and

again.

When it ended, Abigail stood before the host, tears brimming in her eyes.

“Sorry, I wasn’t in good form today, which led to so many mistakes…”

She didn’t play the victim, nor did she harp on the incident of being implicated by others. After all, repeat the same excuse too

often, and it only breeds resentment.

Instead, her restrained, half-withheld manner left room for speculation-had Sharon’s presence unsettled her mood?

Sharon, however, remained utterly unmoved.

When her turn came, the arena fell silent for several seconds. Then, a low hiss rose from somewhere in the crowd. One voice

turned to many, until the entire venue resounded with boos.

Suddenly someone shouted, “Get off the stage!” and the scene spiraled out of control.

Furious spectators pointed and jeered at Sharon.

“Leave! You’re not welcome here!”

“We won’t watch someone like you perform!”

“Program team, eliminate her! Force her to withdraw!”

The uproar grew so frenzied that Sharon couldn’t even begin her performance. Neither the host, the judges, nor the organizers

could calm the storm.

And all of it streamed live. Online viewership soared past ten million.

For a full ten minutes, the chaos raged on. One might have thought Sharon guilty of some heinous crime, given the outrage she

provoked.

The host, never having faced such a scene, wiped cold sweat from his brow again and again. He tried desperately to salvage the

atmosphere with careful words, but every attempt was drowned out by jeers. His efforts only made him look ridiculous, like a

clown on stage.

At that moment, Sharon glanced at the time and motioned for the host to hand her the microphone.

He hesitated, but eventually gave it to her.

The audience grew even more agitated when she took it in hand.

Calmly, Sharon looked over the noisy crowd and spoke, her voice cool and steady.

“How many of you want me to get off the stage?”

The reply came in unison, loud and merciless. “All of us want you gone!”

Sharon didn’t flinch. Instead, she smiled.

“Alright. But before I leave, I’d like those who want me gone to come up here and explain why.”

The uproar froze, suspended in the air.

From below, Thomas watched her, a flicker of admiration flashing in his eyes. No wonder Kelly could never best Sharon.

It was as if her words had doused the crowd’s fury with a bucket of ice water. For the first time, silence spread across the arena.

“You may dislike me,” Sharon continued. “That I can understand. But I can’t live my life bowing to every demand, can I? If you want me gone, then give me a reason that makes sense.”

She swept her gaze across the audience. “Well? Who will be the first to step up?”

Silence. Not a single person dared to move.

Among the so-called “spectators” and reporters, many were paid agitators-hired to stir up the crowd. They were like rats in the dark, thriving in shadows but never daring to face the light.

Then, from somewhere in the crowd, a voice called out, “If we go up there and you remember our faces, what if you retaliate against us later? We’re just ordinary people. We don’t have your money, power, or connections.”

The words struck a chord. Immediately, voices rose in agreement, “Exactly! What if you take revenge on us?”

Yet the speaker stayed hidden, buried deep in the crowd, never daring to stand. Even the cameras couldn’t lock onto him, only panning vaguely toward the area where the voice had come from.
