Chapter 771
Sharon found Wendy’s guess far-fetched, yet she couldn’t think of a better explanation.
“By the way,” Wendy asked, “have you told Theo about this?”
Sharon shook her head. “No. I don’t plan to tell him for now. After all, this is a grudge between me and Carter-it’s not something a child should be burdened with. Besides, I don’t want to alert him prematurely. I’d rather wait and see what Carter’s true intentions are. At worst, I’ll just be more careful with anything Theo brings me in the future.”
Wendy admired Sharon’s composure. If it had been her, she could never have stayed so calm.
The day of the competition arrived quickly.
Thanks to negotiations with the organizers, all the contestants agreed to return. Their earlier withdrawals had never been about quitting entirely, but about leveraging the situation for higher rankings and more attention. If they truly withdrew, they would lose everything they were after. People with real backbone wouldn’t be scheming this way in the first place.
This was Sharon’s first public appearance since the scandal, and naturally, all eyes were on her.
The venue was packed to the brim.
In earlier rounds, tickets had never sold out; there had always been leftovers. Now, not only had they been snatched up instantly,
even scalpers were cashing in. The livestream hadn’t even started, yet nearly a million viewers were already waiting online.
Fabian looked at the sea of spectators, his expression complicated.
“No wonder so many directors chase after the benefits of traffic,” he sighed. “The returns really are hard to resist.”
The moment Sharon stepped into the venue, a frenzy of reporters swarmed around her.
Wendy quickly shielded her, while the bodyguards Xavier had hired forced back the crowd to keep her safe.
A barrage of sharp, aggressive questions came flying.
“Sharon, your partner, Abigail, was dragged down by you and penalized with a loss. You’ve never issued a public apology. Don’t
you think that’s arrogant?”
“Rumor has it you were in a car accident and even injured your hand. Can anyone really recover so quickly? Are you saying you’re fit to compete already?”
“We’ve heard your connections run deep. Otherwise, why would the production team bend the rules just for you?”
The questions cut like knives. It seemed the reporters wouldn’t rest until they provoked her into losing her composure, desperate to capture something explosive on camera.

Chapter 771
Yet Sharon remained calm and unshaken, her expression betraying not the slightest ripple.
Then, a discordant voice rang out above the others.
“Oh, please. You’re already boycotted by all the other contestants, and you still dare show up? Your shamelessness is truly
unmatched!”
Sharon turned toward the sound.
TIJ OUIVUS
A woman in her early twenties stood with a microphone, arrogance written all over her face. When Sharon’s gaze met hers, she
smirked with disdain and triumph.
“If you ask me, why bother with this competition at all? Everyone knows the champion’s already been decided.”
Wendy leaned close and whispered, “Sharon, don’t listen to her nonsense.”
“I know,” Sharon replied with a slight nod.
She didn’t spare the reporter another glance. With Wendy and the bodyguards escorting her, she entered the arena.
Thomas had come along as well.
Thanks to Uriah’s treatments, his recovery was remarkably swift. Though not fully healed, as long as he avoided fights or
strenuous activity, he could move about without issue.
