Side Chick Era Over (Sharon and Carter) novel Chapter 925

Chapter 925

Wendy’s heart gave a violent jolt under Jamie’s icy gaze. Cold sweat broke out.

Fear gripped her. Every instinct screamed that the guy before her was dangerous-someone she could never hope to provoke.

Yet when her eyes fell on Sharon beside her, she forced herself to stay firm.

Mustering every ounce of courage, she snapped at Jamie, “I’m the one who slandered Victoria. It has nothing to do with Sharon. Whatever you want, come at me! Let her go! Sharon is part of the Kalen family. If you dare lay a hand on her, the Kalens will never let you live. Forget being with Victoria-you won’t even survive long enough to try!”

Jamie suddenly laughed.

He clapped his hands. “Wendy, you’ve got a really sharp tongue. No wonder you’re known as a golden agent. Since you insist I target you instead, very well. I’ll grant your wish.”

Turning, he asked his men, “Has Lex arrived?”

“He’s here,” one of them answered. “Waiting at the door.”

Jamie inclined his head. “Bring him in.”

Moments later, Lex entered the villa.

The instant he stepped inside, his eyes landed on Jamie. “Jamie, you called me over in such haste. What’s so urgent? Is it about

Victoria-”

His words broke off mid-sentence.

Because he saw Sharon and Wendy.

A flicker crossed his brow. “You actually caught them?”

Even under the dual protection of Carter and Julliard, Jamie had managed to capture Sharon. That was no small feat.

“I heard,” Jamie said evenly, “that you and Sharon have some history.”

Lex let out a thin smile. “Nothing but minor friction. With my dad’s ties in the picture, it’s best not to go too far.”

His words weren’t spoken in Sharon’s defense-they were his way of keeping out of the storm.

Both he and Damien had suffered humiliating defeats at Sharon’s hands, yet he had never retaliated. Not because he didn’t want to, but because he couldn’t. Her connections were too formidable. She wasn’t someone he could simply deal with at will.

Even without Uriah’s backing, she was still a daughter of the Kalen family. Who would dare lay a finger on her casually?

Lex wasn’t Jamie. He couldn’t afford to lose his mind and lash out recklessly.

So he fanned the flames, encouraging Jamie to act against Sharon-while keeping his own hands clean.

If Sharon suffered, he could savor his revenge. And when the hatred came, it would be Jamie who bore the brunt of it.

Of course, a man who had clawed his way into the position of family head wasn’t blind. Jamie saw right through Lex’s petty calculations-he simply chose not to expose him.

Instead, he smiled and said, “Lex, I’ve never pretended to be a good man. Playing the villain a few more times hardly matters to me. But you…”

His lips curved, but the smile never touched his eyes.
