“After you

fell asleep last night, I heard some noise outside. I went out to check and ran into your property manager. He said this batch of roses had been sprayed with pesticides and needed to be returned.”

He was thinking: If he was lucky enough, he would open a qipao shop for Josephine. If she liked to wear them, she could wear them as much as she wanted.

He was also thinking: Could he skip the hospital today? Find some excuse to follow her, for the whole day…

Natalia’s mouth hung open for quite a while.
