Take Back All She Lost novel Chapter 22

Chapter 22

Having the urge to kill Helena, she ran desperately, trying to catch up with Helena’s car.

Another car stopped.

Patricia got out and held the frantic Josephine in her arms.

I saw it all, Josie. Calm down. She’s not gonna end up well. Just calm down, alright? You just gotta hold on a bit longer.

A trace of sanity flashed in Josephine’s bloodshot eyes.

Seeing the distress in Patricia’s eyes, she finally broke down in tears, her anger dissolving into grief.

Tricia, I was wrong. I made a terrible mistake marrying Wilfred. I should have left Vexford and moved abroad with my parents without hesitation. Then they’d still be alive. Tricia, I was so wrong.

Patricia couldn’t stop crying at all. It wasn’t your fault. You didn’t do anything wrong. They’re the ones to blame. Josie, Shane isn’t home. Come back with me, alright? I’ve learned how to make Marisbury specialties for you.

Staring at Patricia for a long time, Josephine wiped her tears away, pulling herself together.

Then Patricia helped Josephine into the car.

The car had barely begun to move when they heard a loud crash come from the rear.

A bulletproof, custommade Maybach rearended them at a controlled speed.

Both Patricia and Josephine felt a minor impact, but neither was in the mood to mind it.

Martin Hogan, the driver, got out of the car with an umbrella to check.

Then he saw some scratches on the white BMW

He wanted to cursehad the other driver really gotten their license?

Just then, the car window rolled down

He immediately swallowed back his words.

In his opinion, those who could afford a sevenfigure luxury car would hire a chauffeur instead of driving themselves.

To his surprise, a strikingly distinguished young man sat behind the wheel.

With a bank card in hand, the young man said unhurriedly, We’ll settle this in private.

There’s no password to this card. Get the car repaired, and then think of something to get Ms. Copeland in the car to accept the rest of the money. Understood?

Both his tone and expression were indifferent.

When giving the card to Martin, he appeared all gentle, as if instructing Martin patiently.

But somehow Martin feared meeting his calm eyes again.

Martin swallowed, took the card, and went back to the car quickly.

Josephine only cried for a few minutes before she wiped her tears away. She quickly pulled herself together and once again became calm and tough.

After arriving at the Decker’s villa, she went to the guest bathroom for a bath.

A nice, warm bath indeed helped. She came out feeling completely refreshed.

She went to the kitchen to look for Patricia. Before entering, she overheard Patricia on the phone.

You and Wilfred just won’t leave Josie alone. You won’t stop unless she’s completely desperate. Is that right? She’ll share my bed, wear my clothes, and eat my food. I won’t let her take a single thing from you. Happy now? Hello? Shane

Josephine clenched her fists so hard that her nails dug into her flesh.

After a while, she walked away quietly.

She ate all the food Patricia had made for her and then insisted on leaving, lying to Patricia that she had her own place and some savings.
