Chapter35
After the first hand was played and the contract made, the other three all craned their necks to peek at her cards.
“Sis, which suit did you use to win the trick? Your cards are messier than my junk drawer.”
Josephine frowned slightly and began to reorganize her cards.
She sorted them by suit, then arranged them in ascending order by rank, making everything instantly clear.
The three suddenly understood: “Oh, you won the last trick with the Jack of Hearts.”
Josephine looked at Zachery in disbelief.
How could she possibly lose when partnered with these three who played like beginners?
Zachery understood what Josephine meant and touched the tip of his nose with a wry smile.
Josephine could call the contract precisely every time and always made it, to the point where she got so bored she didn’t even bother to look at her cards, playing entirely from memory.
A young master with a cigarette in his mouth called out as he played a card: “Five of Diamonds.”
Josephine said, “I’ll take it.

“Come on, sis, you haven’t even sorted your cards. How are you going to take it? Do you even have a higher card in the same suit?”
Josephine unerringly drew the King of Diamonds from the third card on her left, then the Ace of Diamonds from the fourth card on her right–both higher cards in the same suit that could beat the five.
The corners of everyone’s mouths twitched again and again.
Zachery happily kept handing Josephine fruit and making her tea.
When Josephine needed to use the restroom, she asked Zachery to take her place.

As soon as the door closed, the others‘ faces immediately fell.
“Come on, boss, if we’ve done something wrong, you can punish us however you want, but why bring in a sister to rub our IQs into the ground?”
“I swear I didn’t let her win, I really can’t beat her.”
“Does she even have a human brain? How can she remember all three hands? Boss, be careful or she’ll sell you out.”
“Looks to me like the boss would be happy to be sold…”
Zachery looked quite pleased and didn’t bother arguing with this unruly bunch.
He picked up his phone and transferred ten million to each of them.
“Double the stakes, and make sure all the money ends up in her pocket, got it?”
“Damn, that’s a whole apartment in Opal Heights.”
“I never would’ve guessed that our ascetic Dr. Maynard would throw away thirty million just to make a beauty smile.”
Zachery let them say whatever they wanted.
In fact, this money should have belonged to Josephine in the first place.
Last night, Wilfred spent thirty million to suppress a trending topic.
Josephine’s account was suspended for twenty days, but it wasn’t entirely a bad thing.
It made it clear to everyone that Wilfred had abused his power, and Josephine still got thirty million out of it–not a bad deal.
When Josephine returned from the restroom, everyone immediately fell silent.
Zachery frowned a little and said with a hint of pity, “I lost two hands for you.”
Josephine comforted him in return: “It’s fine, I’ll win it back.”
A young master with a Ferrari key at hand said, “Losing to a woman–how am I supposed to show my face if word gets out? I’ll bet my supercar, but only if sis dares to play!”
The other two chimed in: “Who do you think you’re looking down on? We’ll bet triple!”

Josephine felt like playing with these three kids was almost bullying, so she said kindly, “I’m afraid if you lose too much, your parents will cut you off.”
“If we lose, it’s because we’re not good enough. We deserve it. Just say if you dare to play,
sis!”
