His riding was fluid and natural, as if he and the horse were one.
When they reached the ABC combination obstacle, he stroked the horse’s back twice, as if encouraging it not to be afraid.
“Jump.” Zachery’s legs suddenly squeezed the brown horse’s belly.
The brown horse leapt with all its might.
Josephine’s heart leapt into her throat.
She dug her fingers into her own arm, but felt no pain at all.
A hush fell over the crowd.
Then, suddenly, an uproar erupted.
“He made the jump!”
“That was amazing!”
“Who is that man?”
Zachery had won! The applause was thunderous.
It had been a long time since Josephine had felt such wild excitement.
It wasn’t the kind of excitement that came from anger, but the kind that made her want to scream with joy from the bottom of her heart.
When Zachery dismounted and walked toward her, she almost couldn’t help herself–she wanted to throw her arms around him in delight.
The last time she had such a restless reaction was when the X2+ Chip was successfully developed…
“Daddy, you’re amazing!”
Natalia hugged Zachery tightly.

Josephine clapped so hard her hands turned red, and for a moment she was at a loss for words: “Wonderful, Zachery, absolutely wonderful.”
Zachery picked up Natalia and walked over to Josephine. “Then may I ask you for a favor?”
“What is it?”
“From now on, just call me Zachery, like you just did.”
“What?!”
The temperature at the scene was high. Josephine was still wearing her equestrian outfit, her hair tied in a high ponytail, her exposed face delicate and fair, glowing with a rosy flush.
The smile lingering at the corner of her eyes was more charming than a spring breeze, with no trace of coldness or aloofness–she was so vivid and full of life.
When Wilfred turned his head, this was the scene he saw.
He clenched his jaw, his expression beyond unpleasant.
But right now, he was still under everyone’s watchful eyes.
He couldn’t lose his temper; he still had to maintain an air of “accepting gain and loss with equanimity.”
Helena handed Wilfred a clean towel to wipe his sweat and comforted him:
“It was the horse’s fault. We just had a bit of bad luck and picked a timid one.
Wilfred said nothing. He twisted open a bottle of water and tilted his head back, hiding his gloomy mood.
According to Lena, losing at horseback riding was just bad luck.
But then, losing at archery and tennis too–was that also just bad luck?!
He could shoot a perfect ten, but Zachery hit the bullseye with every arrow.
Josephine played tennis against Helena.
Josephine’s returns were heavy and deep, forcing Helena to chase the ball out of bounds again and again.
Whenever Josephine cased up on her returns, Helena couldn’t return the ball at all.

By the end, Helena was exhausted.
In the end, Natalia’s family emerged victorious.
Belinda lost and ran over to complain to Josephine: “What kind of mom are you? You’re just trying to go against me on purpose.”
Josephine replied coolly, “Little one, you’ve got the wrong mom.”
Belinda was stunned, looking at Josephine as if she were a stranger.
Helena hurried over and, like a mother hen protecting her chick, pulled Belinda behind her.
To others, it looked as if Josephine was about to eat Belinda.
“Why is Josephine still arguing with a child? Aren’t you afraid of hurting Belinda’s feelings?”
Josephine ignored Helena’s attempts to sow discord and turned her gaze to Wilfred, who was walking over.
Their eyes met, and neither backed down.
Helena, as if to make a point, took Wilfred’s arm, a barely perceptible hint of mockery in her
eyes:
“Now that Josephine has a new daughter, she doesn’t want Belinda anymore, is that it?”
