Take Back All She Lost novel Chapter 88

ChapterSS

Josephine noticed a floor vase not far away

She tried to push it, but it wouldn’t budge.

She stepped back a few paces, gritted her teeth, and rammed into it with her body

The vase toppled over and rolled down the stairs.

She herself collapsed at the edge of the stairs.

With each step the vase hit, there was a heavy clang, clangas it struck the ground.

Josephine tilted her head back, her eyes full of longing as she looked downstairs, waiting for someone to notice her.

She saw everyone downstairs turn their heads at once.

Then that upright figure froze for a moment, brushed aside the waiter blocking him, and rushed up the stairs, taking three steps at a time.

In an instant, her nearly shattered heart calmed down, no longer feeling as if it were teetering on the edge of a cliff.

Josephine weakly tugged at the corner of her mouth.

In her vision, the man’s face became clearer and clearer, and she knew she was safe.

Zachery was here!

Josephine!

Zachery cried out in alarm and reached out to turn Josephine, who was lying on the ground,

over.

Josephine’s sweatsoaked hair clung to her cheeks.

Zachery brushed it aside with his fingers and found Josephine’s face flushed, her breathing rapid, her body limp like water.

Wilfred, that bastard!

Zachery’s gaze turned icy cold.

He was determined to give Wilfred a beating! Absolutely!

Josephine reached out and hooked her arms around Zachery’s neck, her breath hot: Take me

away.

She was unbearably uncomfortable, so hot she wanted to tear off her clothes, even her own

skin.

She didn’t know how much longer she could endure.

Alright, I’ll take you away.

Zachery wrapped Josephine’s arms around his own neck.

His left hand supported her shoulder blades, while his right arm slid under her knees.

He lifted her up in his arms.

Carrying Josephine, he strode away quickly.

The waiters looked at each other in confusion.

What’s going on?

No idea.

The woman was carried away by another man, so why hasn’t Mr. Hayden come down yet?

No idea. Mr. Hayden said no matter what happens, we’re not allowed upstairs, so let’s just do as we’re told.

Josephine was losing consciousness. In the bustling street, she lifted her chin to kiss Zachery’s collarbone and neck.

Then his Adam’s apple, then his jaw.

She was like a child who couldn’t get her candy, her eyes brimming with tears of frustration as she mumbled:

Give it to me, Dr. Maynard, I’m so uncomfortable.

Zachery walked quickly, his eyes dark and deep as he looked down at Josephine.

I know you’re uncomfortable. Hold on a little longer, we’ll go to a nearby hotel.

It was less than a hundred meters away, but to Zachery, it felt as endless as a coastline.

When checking in, he pressed Josephine’s head into his chest to keep her from being seen.

He swiped the key card, locked the door, and carried Josephine straight to the bathroom.

Zachery didn’t dare let Josephine use the hotel bathtub directly.

He ran hot water first, disinfecting it at high temperature.

It would take more than fifteen minutes.

Josephine’s body slowly pressed up against him.

Her thin clothes offered no barrier at all.

Zachery could feel her limp, melting body collapsing against his chest, forcing him to wrap his arms around Josephine’s waist.

Now that they were so close, Zachery saw the faintest hint of red around Josephine’s dazed

eyes.

Aren’t you a doctor? Just treat me like a patient.

I need your treatment, Dr. Maynard

Zachery felt his scalp tingling, every nerve and cell in his body tormented.
