Hearing Zachery’s voice, Josephine looked up.
She gazed at him with both anger and guilt.
Once he had a criminal record, he would be expelled from school and fired from the hospital.
All his academic achievements would be destroyed in an instant.
The impact on him would be almost catastrophic.
She had dragged Zachery into a dead end!
“I’m sorry.”
Tears welled up in Josephine’s eyes.
She was dejected, with nowhere left to turn.
Zachery pulled her into his arms and, after a long pause, said, “I’m fine. Don’t be afraid. We’ll both be okay.”
Outside, the sound of car tires rolling over the ground could be heard.
A Rolls–Royce Phantom came to a stop.
Finn, his hair streaked with white, was the first to step down.
Facing the crowd that had gathered, he spoke kindly:
“Allow me to introduce myself, I am Josephine’s supervisor.”
Another young man, exuding a cool and cocky air, stepped down from the car.
He had a cigarette clamped between his lips, not smoking it, just biting it with his teeth.
Both hands were stuffed in his pockets.
He wore a black suit, his tie loose and his jacket unbuttoned.
The formal attire did nothing to make him look proper, his arrogance was impossible to

suppress.
Finn looked at everyone and, still kindly, said again:
“Let me introduce again, this is my supervisor.”
The man, cigarette between his teeth, swept his upturned phoenix eyes around the crowd.
He only lowered his head slightly when he felt his phone vibrating in his pocket.
He took the cigarette from his mouth with his fingers and answered the call in a carefree, unruly tone:
“Jaxson, I’ve come over to have tea at your place. Are you around or not…?”
Finn glanced to the side, wondering to himself, why hasn’t Hendrix arrived yet?
Owen hung up the phone and tossed the cigarette into the trash can as if making a basketball shot.
He held a foldable phone in his hand.
He kept closing and opening it, over and over.
He played with it like a toy as he walked inside.
All the police here knew him.
It was as if he were a regular.
He passed through unimpeded.
Wilfred, Shane, and Declan also knew him.
When they saw him arrive, they exchanged glances, sensing trouble.
“Well, looks like we’re all old acquaintances here.”
The man started greeting people, beginning with Shane, who was standing on the outermost edge.
“Mr. Decker, you’re wearing perfume today, huh? I can’t smell your usual scent, but I do catch a whiff of something feminine… That’s dangerous for you.”
“Why are you clenching your fist? That gesture doesn’t suit you. A peace sign would fit your

vibe much better.”
Owen walked up to Yvonne.
Yvonne didn’t know Owen.
She thought that anyone who could make a suit look so roguish couldn’t be anything good!
So she rolled her eyes at Owen.
Owen didn’t care at all. “Auntie, I like the necklace you’re wearing. Which brand’s limited edition is it?”
Yvonne was so angry she could hardly catch her breath.
“Whose child are you? Didn’t your parents teach you how to speak?”
Anyone with eyes could see that what she had around her neck were strangulation marks, not a damn necklace…
Wilfred couldn’t take it anymore: “Assistant Shi, my mother is an elder. You should show some respect when you speak.”
“And you are?” Owen looked at Wilfred in confusion.
Wilfred’s face, already bruised and battered, now turned completely dark.
A police officer quietly reminded Owen, “That’s Mr. Hayden from Novo Tech.”
Owen was both amused and exasperated. “Mr. Hayden? How did you get so… chubby?”
Wilfred’s face grew even darker!
