Chapter29
“Why? I didn’t do anything.” Larissa felt wronged.
People not only cursed her under the video, but also the private messages she received were especially harsh.
Wesley’s deep voice gently comforted her: “I’ll take care of it.”
“Priscilla at that time…” Larissa hesitated, then added, “I don’t blame Priscilla.”
Wesley responded with a soft voice “Mm,” and said, “Don’t watch all that nonsense online.”
Priscilla watched quietly. So he hadn’t gone to the meeting; instead, he had been comforting Larissa all along. The assistant had lied to her, due to fear that she would disturb them.
She should have been angry, but this time, she didn’t feel the urge to lose her temper.
She quietly turned and left, but her foot hurt badly. No matter how to look at her, her figure seemed to carry a trace of pain and
embarrassment.
The PR department was a hive of activity.
In the office, Raelynn Gillespie threw a stack of documents onto the table, crossed her arms, and frowned, “How did such a big mess happen?”
It wasn’t that she found it troublesome, but rather that she was concerned about Priscilla.
They had a good relationship.
Priscilla lowered her head and could see the photos pulled from the files on the table–pictures of Welsley and Larissa coming and going together over the past month since Larissa returned.
Every single photo showed their sweetness.
Priscilla carefully moved on one foot and sat down on the sofa by herself.
Raelynn pushed up her glasses. “What happened to your foot?”
“I twisted it.” Priscilla asked Raelynn, “Where will the press conference be held?”
Raelynn simply tossed over a file: “The large conference room on the twentieth floor. These are the questions the reporters might ask. Take a look. No matter what, just say that Mr. Carlton and Ms. Wilburn are purely family, and that you and your sister have a good relationship.”
Priscilla agreed.
Raelynn hesitated: “Aren’t you jealous?”
After all, when something like this happens, whether it’s true or not, most women would lose their temper to some extent.
Priscilla smiled faintly. “The company’s image is important.”
Why should she be jealous? She had known Wesley liked Larissa since the day she married him three years ago.
In the end, it was just her own foolish wishful thinking, trying to win a man’s heart, and she became a joke.
Raelynn couldn’t tell if she was genuine or not.

Chapter 29
She said sympathetically in a low voice, “It’s really unfair to you
Clearly it was Mr. Carlton who crossed the line, yet in the end, it was his wife who had to bear all.
When outsiders talked about it, they would only joke about Mr. Carlton’s lingering feelings for the past but never consider Mrs. Carlton’s dignity.
Priscilla slowly stood up, supporting herself on the sofa. “You get back to work. I’ll wait downstairs.”
Raelynn nodded in agreement. Seeing Priscilla limping, she said in hesitation, “Do you want to sit here for a while and wait for Mr. Carlton to pick you up?”
Priscilla shook her head, with her distant expression. “He probably doesn’t have time. I’ll go by myself.”
After all, he had to comfort his childhood sweetheart.
Raelynn said nothing more and saw her into the elevator.
The elevator arrived at the twentieth floor.
As the elevator doors opened and Priscilla was about to step out, she saw Claude.
Claude was on the phone. “With such a big incident, Larissa must be terrified.”
“I’m already here. As soon as the press conference is over, I’ll take her home right away.”
“Priscilla?”
Claude suddenly raised his voice and hung up the phone.
Chap 29
He grabbed Priscilla’s arm forcefully, yanking her out of the elevator His handsome face was twisted with anger.
“How dare you come here?”
Priscilla was caught off guard by the pull, stumbling as pain shot through her injured ankle.
The next second, Claude flung her away with force. Her body slammed into the wall, making a heavy and muffled sound.
“Priscilla, why did you post those things online?” Claude questioned angrily.
“It wasn’t me.” Priscilla’s face turned pale from the pain and a thin layer of sweat broke out on her forehead.
Claude had misunderstood..
“Who else but you could be so vicious?” Claude glared at Priscilla with malice.
It was as if the person standing before him wasn’t his own sister, but an
enemy.
“I told you it wasn’t me.” Priscilla steadied herself against the wall. Her body hurt, and so did her heart.
She and Larissa were both Claude’s sisters, but when something happened, Claude’s first reaction was to blame her.
In this matter, she was a victim too.
Claude wouldn’t listen at all. “Priscilla, Larissa and Wes grew up together as childhood sweethearts and their bond is deep. It’s not something you can destroy with a few petty tricks. Stop your malicious, dirty scheming.”
