“And this time, if you dare hurt Larissa, Wes and I won’t let you off.”
He pronounced Priscilla guilty on Wesley’s behalf.
Suddenly, Priscilla lost all desire to defend for herself. She looked up coldly at her twin brother.
“I’ve always wanted to know–Larissa is your sister, but am I not your sister too?”
Claude sneered without mercy: “Having a sister like you is my disgrace.”
Disgrace?
“Good, because I don’t want a brother like you either. What a bad luck.” Priscilla clenched her fists and her lips pressed tight.
“You… You’re just hopeless.” Claude grew even angrier.
He only wanted his sister to be more forgiving toward her family. If she wouldn’t admit her fault. fine, but now she even refused to acknowledge him as her brother.
Priscilla was about to leave.
But Claude blocked her way. “Stop right there.”
Priscilla brushed his hand aside and walked away without looking back:
“Priscilla.” Claude, furiously yanked her back and ordered, “At the press conference, you should say the photos were faked by you to
frame Larissa, and you should apologize to her.”
Priscilla only replied with three words: “You’re insane.”
And seriously insane at that.
Claude looked at Priscilla coldly. “Am I wrong? Ever since Larissa
came back, you’ve been causing trouble every few days just to get Wes’s attention through despicable and malicious ways. Now I’m only asking you to clarify the truth.”
Priscilla’s ankle hurt terribly; it must have swollen up again.
She had no patience left for this tug–of–war. “If you really think I did it, then go to the police.”
“The police?” Claude was incredulous. “Do you really want everyone to know about the shameful things you’ve done?”
Priscilla was both angry and aggrieved. She hadn’t done it, but all the blame fell on her.
“Claude, you have no right to order me around.” Whatever feelings she had left for this brother were now gone.
When something happened, his first thought was not how to solve the problem, while all he knew was how to accuse her.
Having a brother like this was her misfortune.
Now, she didn’t want him anymore.
“And what about me?” Tania appeared with Larissa.
Tania looked exhausted and her eyes were full of disappointment
she gazed at Priscilla. “Priscilla, Larissa is your sister. How could you do this?”

Priscilla clenched her palms. One after another, they all came to wrong
her.
She turned her head and stared at Larissa. “Don’t you know whether I did it or not?”
Larissa instinctively shrank closer to Tania, then said softly, “It wasn’t Priscilla who did this. A reporter took photos of me and Wes entering a hotel and made up stories.”
She explained what had happened.
Claude and Tania hadn’t expected it to really be a misunderstanding.
However, neither of them showed any intention of apology.
Claude even said, “Even if it wasn’t you, can’t you help clarify things?”
Help clarify things…
Priscilla felt a heavy weight in her chest. They just simply said so as if it was such a trivial matter.
“And what about me? After I clarify things, if they come after me and curse me, what am I supposed to do?”
Maybe she was numb by now, but at this moment, she asked the question with unusual calm.
What was she supposed to do?
Claude didn’t care. “You’re Wes’s wife who lives comfortably at home. Those people can’t bother you.”
Tania chimed in, “That’s right, that’s right. Larissa is different. She still has work to do; she can’t be affected by this.”
Chapter30
As she spoke, her tone softened. She took Priscilla’s hand and pleaded, “Priscilla, just do it for me, please. Larissa is pure and innocent; she can’t handle this kind of thing.”
For the sake of her youngest daughter. Tania was willing to humble herself.
A burning pain seared in the depths of Priscilla’s heart.
Bit by bit, she withdrew her hand with her desolated expression. A chill swept through her heart, completely drowning out any sense of familial affection.
They were quite calculating–clearly it was Larissa who caused the trouble, yet they wanted to sacrifice her to solve it.
Larissa’s sobs grew quieter: “Wouldn’t this be too much trouble for Priscilla?”
“She’s your sister, it’s what she should do,” Claude said as if it were so natural.
Larissa came over to thank her: “Thank you. Priscilla, for helping
me…
“I never agreed,” Priscilla said coldly.
Larissa’s words of thanks caught in her throat. She began to cry aggrievedly, throwing herself into Tania’s arms. “This was my fault to begin with, Priscilla shouldn’t have to bear it.”
Tania was heartbroken, patting her back and comforting her.
Claude, too, was especially patient in consoling her.
The three of them, a loving family, only made Priscilla seem like an outsider.
