Aria’s POV

Isla’s mouth fell open. She stared at Grayson, tears streaming down her face.
“I… I disgust you?” she sobbed. “We were the perfect couple in everyone’s eyes, and now… now that’s all I get from you–I disgust you?”
“Aren’t the things you did disgusting enough? My God, cheating on my brother, and with his head of security! Have you no shame?” Delilah yelled.
“If it weren’t for his coldness and mood swings, why would I ever let those men get close to me?” Isla shouted, her voice shaking, her chest rising and falling wildly. “I was just… so lonely, so helpless. And my husband… he was no help at all. He was like a block of ice…”
Anger surged in my chest. I rushed forward and snapped, “You fucking blame him? He was more than patient with you. You weren’t the only one struggling in that marriage. Because of you, he lost all interest in marriage itself, and even then he never blamed you. How dare you now put the blame for your disgusting behavior on him?!”
She glared at me with pure hatred in her eyes. “Shut up, you bitch! Don’t think just because you know a few details about my private life, you have the right to judge a lady like me…‘
“No, you shut up!” I said loudly, looking down at her. “From now on, stop acting like you’re some noble lady above me, because I won’t take it anymore. Right now, you’re just a criminal, and you’re going to pay for your crimes.”
I turned to Grayson and said seriously, “I believe we have enough evidence to arrest her for murder.”
Grayson nodded. But then, an elder spoke up hesitantly, “Alpha Grayson…with all due respect…the evidence here only proves that Glen and Lady Isla had an— unusual relationship. It doesn’t directly prove she was involved in the murder.”
“WHAT?!” Delilah cried out in disbelief, looking even angrier than I was. “First, she hates Aria. Second, Glen was willing to do anything for her. Anyone with a

brain can connect the dots, and you’re telling me it’s not direct proof?”

Isla smirked, a flash of triumph gleaming in her eyes. “I told you–he was obsessed with me, but I never asked him to do anything for me, especially not kill anyone. He did it all on his own.”
I shot her a look, then turned back to Delilah. “Did you find any solid evidence in Glen’s basement?”
She shook her head reluctantly. “The basement was full of… disgusting photos and chat logs. But actual proof that she hired him… I didn’t find any.”
Damn it.
That was the one missing piece.
“And,” the elder added, “according to werewolf customs, accusing a noble of a crime is very difficult. We’d have to go to her pack and face her side of the council. We’d have no advantage there. And Lady Isla’s situation is even more special since she’s an Alpha’s daughter…”
“So what? Are we afraid of her?” Delilah said loudly, glaring at Isla with disgust. “And I’m the Alpha’s sister. I support pursuing charges against this bitch!”
The elder immediately shook his head. “It’s not wise, Lady Delilah. We have no direct evidence. If we act recklessly, it could damage relations between our packs and make us a laughingstock. Not to mention that this thing is a pure scandal. We don’t want the world to know our Alpha’s wife once… well, did those things.”
I felt like a rock was stuck in my chest.
I was one hundred percent sure I wanted Isla to pay, no matter what it took. I just fucking hated this woman.
But if the cost was exposing Grayson’s past, I wasn’t so sure anymore.
I knew how much that marriage hurt him. He still doesn’t like to talk about it. And letting the whole world know his past, how he struggled in that dark time… It would be too cruel.
I bit my lip, hesitating. Just as I was about to speak, Grayson took my hand.

“We will take her to court. No matter the cost,” he declared firmly.

I turned to him, shocked. The room erupted into murmurs, “But Alpha, the potential fallout, the complexity of the trial-”
“I don’t fucking care,” he roared. “Red Stone Pack is the strongest pack in the world. So when I want someone to pay for their crimes, they will fucking pay. Especially when it involves the woman I love, who almost lost her life. I will not let the culprit walk away freely.”
A wave of strong emotion washed over me. My nose stung, and I almost cried in front of everyone.
“You… you love her?”
Isla staggered to her feet, staring wide–eyed at Grayson. “We were married for years, and you… you never said that word to me. And now, you say you love her?!”
“That’s enough Isla. There’s no point having that conversation right now,” he said, frowning.
“No, it’s not fair!” she screamed hysterically. “I met you first! We fell in love first! I was special to you! You can’t just take your love back and give it to her… Grayson Hart, you ruined my life! Don’t you feel any guilt at all?!”
He looked at her, his expression cold and detached. “We both made mistakes in that marriage, Isla. If you hadn’t done stupid things, I would have felt guilty forever. But after what you did to Aria? Not anymore.”
She trembled, crying, “I had nothing to do with the murder! I told you!”
“We’ll figure that out in court,” he said, turning to the soldiers. “Take her Lock her in the dungeon.”
“Yes, Alpha!”
away.
The soldiers dragged Isla out of the room while she kept on cursing and crying. Then Grayson turned to the elders. “I want each of you to do everything you can to find evidence linking Lady Isla to this murder. If I find out anyone protected her, I’ll make them regret being born in Red Stone Pack.”

They shivered, mumbling agreements before filling out of the room.
“Thank you.”

I immediately turned to Delilah, squeezing her hand sincerely. If she hadn’t shown up with that evidence today, I might not have even been able to get Isla
arrested.
“I said I’d help,” she smiled, squeezing back. Then she gave one nervous glance at Grayson. “I sure wasn’t going to stand by and do nothing while she hurt my
brother.”
These two still hadn’t patched things up yet. Grayson no longer banned me from seeing Delilah, but he never looked at her or spoke to her either.
I could feel how much Delilah wanted to make things right with her brother. And today…Well, maybe there’s a chance for that.
“You should thank Delilah too,” I said to Grayson. “She helped us a lot today,
didn’t she? With the evidence. ”
Delilah looked tense, watching her brother’s every reaction. His face was still stern, but after a short silence, he said in a low voice, “…Next time, leave the evidence gathering to the soldiers. You’re pregnant. I don’t want you overdoing it.”
Delilah’s eyes immediately lit up, with tears welling up in them. “O–Okay. And… maybe we could have dinner together sometime? Like we used to…”
“Like we used to,” her brother nodded in agreement.
She quickly wiped her eyes. “I… I should go. You’ve had a long day and need rest. Aria, I’ll talk to you later.”
She gave me a grateful look and left.
Cleaning up the house took until late that night. Grayson only returned to our room after punishing all the guards who had left their posts and given Glen the chance to hurt me.
The moment he walked in, I rushed over and hugged him, wrapping my arms tightly around his neck. He bent down and held me close, breathing into my neck.
