Chapter 81
Third Person POV
But now wasn’t the time to dwell on anything else.
He had to save his Aria first.
So he turned and walked back to the operating room to speak with the doctor.
“Obviously, having no matching blood source makes this very tricky,” the doctor said after he learnt the situation, frowning. “But… there is one temporary option. Something that might just keep Miss Collins alive.”
“Anything,” Grayson said immediately.
“An Alpha’s blood carries powerful healing properties for their members. If Miss Collins were one of yours, a transfusion of your blood could stabilize her–for now.”
Grayson held his breath.
Right.
That was actually common knowledge–something sacred between an Alpha and their own. The bond between Alpha and pack was more than symbolic. In critical moments, it could literally save lives.
He hated himself for not thinking of this sooner.
“There’s just one tiny problem,” the doctor added. “I heard Miss Collins isn’t originally from Red Stone Pack?”
“No. She’s from Frostpine Pack.”
“Then it won’t work. This kind of transfusion only works between an Alpha and his own member. We’d have to find a way to officially transfer her into your pack. Typically, that means contacting Frostpine’s current Alpha-”
“No need,” Grayson cut him off. “There’s a ritual. One that allows me to claim her under my protection without needing approval from anyone else.”
He should’ve done it long ago.
On the very day he decided she was his forever.
The doctor gave a slow nod. “Alright, then let’s do this. If you’re ready, Alpha Grayson, we can begin drawing blood. She needs it now.”
“Drawing blood?!”
A startled voice cut through behind them.
Delilah had come back. This time alone without her parent.
She stumbled closer, staring at her brother in shock. “Why are you giving blood? What’s going on?!”
Grayson didn’t even glance at her. As if she wasn’t even there. The doctor answered instead, “Alpha’s blood might be the only way to stabilize Miss Collins‘ condition.”
“Well how much do you need?”

“Uh… around 7,000 milliliters.”
“7000?!” Delilah’s voice pitched up in panic. “That’s twice the safe amount for a single draw! Are you trying to kill him?!”
“No, Lady Delilah,” the doctor replied calmly. “But as I just said, this may be the only chance Miss Collins has. Even then it might not be enough. We still need a healer from White River Pack.”
“This is insane…”
“Enough!” Grayson suddenly snapped, glaring at her. “Now you’re pretending to care about me? Where was this concern when you handed me that glass of wine with wolfsbane in it?”
Delilah’s mouth opened. But no words came out.
Tears filled her eyes again, her voice breaking. “I–I’m sorry… I just wanted to fix things somehow…”
“There is no fixing this,” he said freezingly. “The pain I’m currently in. The suffering Aria has gone through. All of it was you. So don’t you dare cry in front of me. No one wants to see it.”
She sniffled, trying not to let the tears fall. “I just wanted to help…”
“Are you helping Jace escape again?” he asked suddenly.
“What?” Delilah looked shocked. “What are you talking about? I thought you already caught him…Did he get away again?”
Grayson stared her down, his eyes sharp, trying to find any flicker of a lie.
After a long moment, he said, “Just stay away from Aria. That’ll help enough.”
And with that, he turned and followed the doctor into the operating room, never looking back once.
Delilah slumped into one of the hallway chairs, covering her face with both hands.
She knew she’d fucked up.
Completely.
The guilt was eating her alive, and no matter what she did now, it wasn’t enough to make it right.
She could feel it–she was losing her brother.
She didn’t even have this feeling when she and Jace tried to steal his company and his pack. Back then, her brother might be a little disappointed. But he’d still loved her. That was why he’d gone to that ski cabin in the first place. Why he drank the wine.
But now?
Now he hated her.
Truly, completely.
Delilah clutched her hair and let out a low, aching cry.
But she couldn’t lose him. Grayson had been her rock and her guiding star since they were kids. Without him, she didn’t know who she even
was.
There had to be something…something she could do to win him back.

And then suddenly, she had an idea.
She bolted upright, eyes shining with sudden hope, She pulled out her phone and quickly dialed a number.
“Hello?”
Her voice trembled, nervous, hopeful, when the call was connected.
“isla? Yeah, it’s me. Delilah… I’m… I’m doing alright. Listen, there’s something I think you should know…It’s about my brother. About Grayson.”
Aria’s POV
I was so cold.
A deep, bone–deep chill, as if all the warmth in my body was running away and I couldn’t stop it.
My wolf was curled up in a corner of my mind, weak and fading.
I could feel it. If this kept going, I wouldn’t make it.
But there’s nothing I could do.
I even started seeing people. People I loved. My grandmother. May… even my mother.
I hadn’t dreamt of her in years.
She gently touched my hair, her expression full of sadness. She told me she never wanted to leave me. But she didn’t have a choice.
And then even she faded away. He appeared by her side.
He was still just as possessive. Holding me tight in his arms.
