The Billionaire Ex-Wife and the Beggar He Became novel Chapter 37

"As long as you're willing to be our housekeeper—cook and clean for me, Dad, and Miss Felly every day, make all your specialty dishes for us—I'll forgive you and let you move back home," Tiana repeated, her tone matter-of-fact.

She'd discussed this with her father a few days ago.

He'd said he'd think about it.

But when she saw Miss Felly so exhausted she'd developed a stomach ulcer, Tiana remembered the soothing soup her mother used to make. Her mother's soup was so much better than anything the housekeeper made—it wasn't something you could buy anywhere.

Both Tiana and her father loved it.

So for Miss Felly's sake, Tiana made a compromise and agreed to let her mother come back.

Winona gazed at Tiana with a bittersweet smile.

If there was anyone who could truly wound her, it was her own child; no one else in this world, not even Felicity, could hurt her like that.

Your own child—always able to cut the deepest, always finding new ways to break your heart.

"Tiana, you're really something," Winona said, as if she were praising her.

Tiana sighed softly, her tone easing. "Honestly, we're all pretty tired of you. You're always hanging around us. But if you're willing to take care of our family—the three of us..."

Winona's fists clenched so tight it looked like she might slap Tiana right across the face at any moment.

"Tiana, that's enough," Felicity cut in, her voice weak but firm.

Tiana looked up at her.

Felicity's face was pale and drawn, but nestled in Julian's arms, she looked strangely serene—a fragile, delicate beauty touched with an air of quiet happiness.

She reached out, gently stroking Tiana's hair to comfort her.

Then Felicity turned her cool, proud gaze on Winona. "Miss Perkins, whether it's at Riverside Club, the office, at home, or even the hospital—you keep following us everywhere. It's really baffling. With the relationship Julian and I have, he'd never so much as glance at another woman. Why are you humiliating yourself chasing after him like this?"

Her words were sincere, tinged with resignation—not sharp, but weary, as if she were trying to shake off a stubborn piece of gum stuck to her shoe but couldn't get rid of it no matter how hard she tried.

For a split second, Winona felt disoriented.
