"Mr. Nicholson, I've watched Fel grow up. She's had a tough road—she's a strong girl, but she's also been through a lot. I hope you'll take good care of her. Don't let her down," Xander said seriously, locking eyes with Julian.

Julian nodded. "Of course. Fel is my treasure."

"That's good to hear." Xander's gaze drifted across the room, landing briefly on Winona.

He'd seen her in the powder room earlier—she had practically fallen into Julian's arms.

After the brief introductions, Tiana's birthday dinner began in earnest.
