Lola agreed with Atlas’s plan, though she felt like she nodded under the pressure of everyone staring at her. It wasn’t that she disagreed, but everything about her life since Atlas came into it was moving so fast, in a direction she couldn’t predict.
It was different from the path she had expected when she returned to Novera. Back then, her path had been straight. Now, she couldn’t even tell if it was a straight line. All she knew was that whatever path they were on, it was like riding in a racing car.
"Hola!"
Lola flinched as Silo suddenly jumped to her side. Seeing her reaction, he arched a brow.
"Why are you jumpy?" Silo asked. "It’s either you had too much coffee or you didn’t. Which one is it?"
"Silo, please... not today," Lola sighed, watching some crew move equipment while she sat on the edge of the flowerbed.
The production of Angel’s Revenge had been moved up unexpectedly, which didn’t surprise her. The executives were in a hurry, and with all the delays, they wanted to start filming as soon as possible.
"Then, what is it?" Silo frowned. "Lola, if you’re going to keep me in the dark again, I’ll be visiting Atlas."
He arched a brow when she didn’t react. "And I’m going to seduce him. Atlas likes men and women, so don’t think he won’t be seduced by a man!"
This time, Lola glared at him and ground her teeth. How could she even be friends with this guy? They had been rivals once.
"Tch." She clicked her tongue. "Fine. I’ll tell you."
Silo squeezed in beside her, ready for whatever juicy gossip she was about to share.
"Atlas wants to move out of the penthouse with the twins," she began, making his brows rise.
"And?" Silo blinked. "He doesn’t want you to go? Is that why it looks like your world is collapsing?"
"No, but he wants me to go."
He cocked his head, even more confused. "That’s a problem?"
"No, it’s not a problem. But I’m just... thinking about how fast things are moving with him," she explained. "I knew Atlas and his siblings moved fast, given the life they all lead. But I’m just... I don’t know."
"You’re crazy, aren’t you?" Silo scoffed. "You already live together. What’s the problem if you move in with him? He moved in with you, and he didn’t complain."
"If anyone should complain about that, it should be me."
"But you let him stay." He shrugged. "If you didn’t want him in your place, you would’ve told him. Did you ever tell him not to stay?"
Her silence was the loudest answer he could get.
"See?" Silo scrunched his nose. "Lola, I know you like overcomplicating things because life’s always been hard. But when things are good, just enjoy it! Why overcomplicate? Or are you trying to brag about your boyfriend and that you can pull that attitude with him?"
Lola pursed her lips, reconsidering his words. It was true she often overanalyzed situations. No one could blame her; having to guard herself every second had made it a habit.
Slowly, a smile crept onto her face. She looped her arm around Silo’s and leaned on his side.
"Silo, you really are a good friend."
"Hey, what are you doing?!" Silo tried to push her away, but she clung to him like a koala. "Stop—no, I don’t like you. Get away from me!"
But Lola just chuckled, teasingly draping a leg over him. "No, let’s be friends forever, Silo."
