The Billionaire Twins Need A New Mommy! novel Chapter 342

Chapter 342: Proposal in Atlas’ Logic

[Flashback]

"First Brother, when are you getting married?" Penny’s lazy voice echoed through Atlas’s office as she spun around in a swivel chair she’d borrowed from another room. "Renren and I want to have a grand wedding too, you know? You should propose now."

Atlas paused from his work and glanced at his sister. Penny had her head tipped back, her hair dangling over the chair’s back. She spun lazily, the kind of spin that would definitely make her dizzy later.

"I did," he replied flatly, stopping her spinning with one hand. "She rejected me... countless times."

Penny and even Zoren — who was seated on the couch, enjoying tea — turned their heads toward him.

"What kind of proposal?" They asked in unison, knowing full well Atlas wasn’t the romantic type. They both doubted whether those "proposals" even counted as proposals.

Atlas shrugged. "The kind where I asked her to be with me?"

"..."

For a second, they tried to imagine Atlas actually kneeling down with a ring. Their expressions soured. The image didn’t fit him at all.

"I need more information!" Penny exclaimed, leaping from her chair and slamming her hands onto his desk. "First Brother, you need to be detailed so I can fix you!"

Zoren nodded, though he froze when Atlas gave him a sharp look. Atlas turned his attention back to his sister, thinking briefly before answering.

"I told her I’d adopt her," he said simply. "Then I told her that if she wanted to join the family, she could. Once, I told her she could subscribe to be a Bennet."

Atlas went on to recount all the times he’d "proposed" to Lola. He didn’t go into much detail, but Penny and Zoren’s expressions shifted from curious... to horrified.

Finally, Zoren decided to speak, even if it would cost him his life.

"First Brother, those aren’t proposals," Zoren said calmly. "A proposal is—well, a proposal. Like a pitch in a boardroom. It needs to be not only persuasive but also appealing. Something that makes your audience say yes."

Penny nodded vigorously. "Exactly! Asking her like that is like pitching a business with no presentation or effort. Just tell me, what would you think if someone asked you to invest in a business with zero visible preparation?"

They watched Atlas carefully, trying to get through to him using "his" logic. When they weren’t sure he understood, Zoren added,

"Imagine Second Brother asking you to lend him money to start his own business."

"No," Atlas replied instantly.

"Exactly!" Penny clapped. "You wouldn’t lend him money because you know he’d either lose it or give it away! It’s the same principle here."

She crossed her arms, huffing. "I don’t think your woman even knows you’re serious. Have you forgotten Finn’s proposal? Or Renren’s? Renren made sure everything was perfect—weather, lighting, music, every single detail! We’re already married, but he still proposes to me!"

"Asking for her hand isn’t as simple as asking her to subscribe," she added with emphasis. "And adoption? First Brother, I get the sentiment, but do you think orphans like to be reminded that they are orphans? It might be a good idea at first thought!"

"It’s not a good idea, my love," Zoren corrected quietly.

Penny blinked at him. "It’s not?"
