Chapter 325: Penny’s Sound Advice

"Sir Allen, there are a few things that Miss Scarlet hasn’t sent us yet," Harvey called, running after Allen and stopping him near the chairman’s office. "Should I call her again to remind her?"

Conflict flickered in Harvey’s eyes; he knew Scarlet was "sick" and working from home, and that she had been handling her work remotely.

"You should," Allen said, offering a reassuring nod. "I’m sure she won’t mind. Scarlet’s been doing a lot, so she’ll appreciate the reminder."

Harvey heaved a sigh of relief and nodded. Just then, the phone in his hand lit up. He checked it and flashed Allen a smile.

"She already sent them," he chuckled lightly, a hint of relief in his voice.

Allen just nodded, about to continue when he noticed Harvey was still following him.

"Where are you headed?" he asked curiously. "Going to the chairman?"

"Well, he asked me to do something, so I will report to him directly," Harvey replied.

"I see."

With that, both men made their way to Atlas’s office. Allen knocked once before opening the door carefully, out of habit. But the moment the door swung open, they froze, caught by what they heard.

"Let’s get married."

Allen and Harvey’s breaths hitched, and their eyes widened. The door was already open just enough to see Lola standing in front of the desk, but not Atlas.

Slowly, Allen pulled the door shut again. When it clicked fully, Harvey gasped and turned to his boss.

"Sir, why did you close it fully?" he blurted, forgetting they were in a work setting.

Allen sighed heavily. "I want to listen too, but I also want to live."

Who wouldn’t want to hear how that conversation would go? Atlas... getting married? So soon? Anyone would want to witness that. However, regardless of their curiosity, their lives mattered more.

Regret and frustration shone in their eyes as they looked at each other. After a moment, both stared again at the door. Just when they were expecting the other to walk away, they simultaneously pressed their ears against the door, trying to catch more without putting themselves at risk.

"Let’s get married."

Atlas stopped cleaning his desk of unnecessary papers when those words suddenly flew out of her mouth. He looked up slowly, brows rising as he studied the determined look on her face.

"Now?" he asked.

She nodded. "Yep. We still have time to register our marriage today if we go now, but no rush!"

Atlas blinked. This was not what he expected from her today. If he had anticipated this, he wouldn’t have set aside all the papers on the table.

For a moment, neither spoke. They just stared at each other. Atlas slowly leaned back in his seat, tilting his head slightly.
