John was convinced it was all an act–a game.

In his eyes, this was just her way of testing him, trying to force his hand, make him abandon Elsa and choose her.

But even if he knew she was bluffing, the way she drew that line between them–so sharp, so cold–it still cut deep

Lily’s skin was too fair, too delicate.

Lily shoved his hand off her body with everything she had.

She could feel how dangerous this was. She had to get away.
