The Broken-hearted She And The Icy He (Lily and John) novel Chapter 328

Chapter 328 No Turning Back

After the dinner, Jackson was going to leave.

“Mr. Henry, Madam Grace, Mr. Blanc, Madam Nancy, I’m going to walk Jackson out.” Lily said.

Jackson’s car was parked right outside the main house.

$10 FOR CARIC

Technically, he could’ve just driven off after dinner–there was no real need for me to walk him out. But after everything that happened tonight, and since I needed to talk about money, it was better to speak face-to-face,

So she got in his car.

During dinner, Henry had been fuming. He’d planned to give his grandson a harsh lecture once Jackson left, to make sure James never dared to bully or pressure Lily again.

But now, facing the reality that he might have to accept a male grandson-in-law for life, he was so mentally defeated that he didn’t even have the strength to scold anyone. As he watched Jackson’s car disappear into the distance, he pressed a hand to his chest and silently headed upstairs with Grace.

“James, Lily is a good girl. Now that you’re divorcing her, make sure she gets enough compensation. She shouldn’t walk away with nothing.”

Nancy was exhausted-mentally and physically. She didn’t want to argue anymore. Seeing her son nod silently, she followed her husband back to their room.

“So that’s it? Lily’s just leaving with Jackson? James, are you seriously letting her go?”

Ivan, completely clueless when it came to love, didn’t realize Lily didn’t actually have feelings for Jackson.

He was pacing in circles, looking like he wanted to tie James down until he changed his mind and chased Lily back.

But then he remembered-James was into guys! No matter how amazing a girl was, it wouldn’t change anything.

He let out a deep sigh and dragged his feet upstairs, full of helpless frustration…

“Jackson, maybe we should get out and talk.”

Lily didn’t feel comfortable staying inside a car with someone she barely knew. Once they drove out of the Luke estate, she asked him to pull over. They stepped out to talk about money.

“How’d I do tonight?” Jackson asked with a hopeful smile.

“You did great.”

Lily answered honestly. “Your acting was impressive, and you handled the unexpected stuff really well. Don’t worry, you were so good I’m definitely paying you extra,

I’ll send you an additional 2800 dollars later tonight.

Jackson, I really appreciate it. Thanks to you, Mr. Henry finally agreed to the divorce.

It’s getting late, you should head home and rest.

Also, I’m sure that car rental tonight wasn’t cheap. Send me the transaction screenshot, and I’ll reimburse

you.

If everything goes well, I should be able to finalize the divorce with James tomorrow. I probably won’t need your help again. But if I do, I’ll pay you per appearance.”

With that, Lily turned and started walking back toward the Luke estate gate.

As he watched her leave without hesitation, the sweetness in Jackson’s expression faded, replaced by something wild and possessive. –

I waited for you to remember me.

To call me Jack, just once.

But clearly, you hadn’t remembered a thing.

You didn’t even want to keep in touch with me.

Watching her walk away like he meant nothing-like he was just a hired extra-Jackson let out a dry, bitter laugh.

Aren’t you the one who said Jack is your favorite little brother? That you’d always recognize me, no matter how long we were apart?

Aren’t you the one who promised to always treat Jack well?

Aren’t you the one who said you’d be Jack’s bride one day?

Liar.

But I’m not going to let you walk away like this. No chance.

I’m going to make you remember every promise you ever made-and keep every single one.

Even if it meant going to war.

A smile tugged at his lips-equal parts frustrated and possessive. He reached into his pocket and pulled out the diamond ring he’d bought on his 18th birthday.

He snapped a photo and posted it to a private story on social media, visible only to James.

“Mission accomplished. Lily says she wants my kisses every day. I’m officially allowed to kiss her and put a ring on her finger. I’m so happy!”

“James…”

When Lily returned upstairs, she was surprised to find James standing outside her door.

“I… I just saw Jackson off. Grandpa and Grandma agreed to the divorce. I’ll get up early tomorrow and

James didn’t respond.
