Lily was busy admiring the bow she’d tied and didn’t notice the hunger flashing through his

eyes.

She was pleased with his obedience. Good. Since he’d agreed to obey her tonight, she could act like a little queen and do as she pleased.

Tonight she would reclaim every ounce of face she’d lostand make him beg.

Gloating, she straddled him.

James, close your eyes.

His long lashes fluttered; his muscles tensed, but he complied and closed them. Seeing him so compliant, Lily prowled arrogantly closer, ready to kiss him hard and show who was in charge.

Before her lips could reach his, she felt a sharp press against hersomething that made her ears flush crimson.

She hadn’t even started, and he’d alreadyso shameless.

Gritting her teeth, she snapped, James, you’re pressing against memove away!

Jamesdidn’t move.

She felt it: not only did he refuse to withdraw, he’d grown bolder. He was goading her, and she vowed to teach him a lesson.

Lifting her chin with defiant pride, she shifted her body and hooked her arms around his neck, then planted a fierce kiss on him.

Her sudden motion made him emit a low, stifled groan.

Lily assumed she had him where she wantedshe kissed harder, savoring the small victory. Tonight she would kiss him breathless, make him powerless.

Don’t move. Don’t open your mouth.

She ordered him again, then kissed him deeper and fiercer.

James wanted to move. But because she had taken the initiative, he bit back the impulse to break free of the ribbon and seize her waist, to crush her with a kiss. He clenched his control and shut his eyes, trying to calm himself.

Still, the heat spreading through him betrayed his restraint.

Lily felt the blaze in his bodymuscles taut, a tremor she could feel beneath her. She assumed her force had simply overwhelmed him; she felt triumphant.

She resolved to press the advantage.

She bit his lip, then, mischievous and bold, nipped at the tempting hollow of his throat.

James’s lips pressed thin, veins standing out on the back of his hands. He felt like a living volcano on the verge of eruption.

Lily didn’t sense the danger. Instead, she grew bolder.

His hands had been indiscreet on her many times before, softening her to a puddle. Tonight she would be the one in commandso why should her hands be tame?

Who told you to open your eyes? Close them!

Finding he had somehow opened them, she slapped a hand over his eyes. One hand wasn’t enough for everything she wanted to do, thoughshe pulled the other back and pushed his collar open.

Her gaze dropped, and she saw the sight that always tempted her: his chestsculpted, taut, the lines of muscle strong and compelling. Not bulky or gaudy, but defined, powerful, utterly masculine.

Bound though he was, his strength made him all the more hers to tease.

She couldn’t resist. She pinched his jaw with a wicked smile, then let both small, eager hands slide down to grope his chest.

Next came his abs.

Lily, don’t-James’s voice grazed the edge of panic.

He felt like a heap of dry tinderand her touch the spark. Wherever her hands passed, wood flamed; the tiny lights spread until the whole mountain burned. He was losing control.
