THE DIVORCE GAMBIT From Dumped Wife to CEO's Forever novel Chapter 235

“Okay, Mom,” Ann replied, a smile of pure satisfaction spreading across her lips. “I won’t let you down.”

“Alright then, I’ll hang up for now. If you need anything, just give me a call,” her mother said before ending the call.

After hanging up, Amanda made her way to the Gonzales family’s medical suite.

Because Stuart had been ill for years, Keira had set up a well-equipped medical room right in their home.

Amanda stopped outside the door and knocked.

“Come in,” came Waldo’s voice from inside.

She opened the door and stepped in. Waldo immediately rose from his chair. “Miss Amanda.”

She nodded politely. “Dr. Barrett, I’ll have to trouble you to pay special attention to my mother’s headaches over the next few days.”

“Miss Amanda, you’re too polite. It’s my duty to take care of her,” he replied graciously.

Meanwhile, Ann picked up a bouquet of fresh flowers and headed to Baycrest Medical Center.

However, since Hannah was staying in the hospital’s most exclusive suite, security was tight at the entrance, and Ann wasn’t able to see her right away.

The security chief checked Ann’s ID, then said, “Please wait here a moment while I check with Mrs. Richards.”

Ever since Hannah’s collapse, the responsibility of running the Richards family had naturally fallen to Jade.

“Of course,” Ann replied sweetly, her demeanor gentle and composed. “I’ll wait for your reply.”

The security chief turned and walked toward the patient suite.

Hannah’s hospital suite was spacious, with three bedrooms and a sitting room.

The previous night, the Richards brothers, Lyle and Theodore, had taken turns watching over their mother. Now, Theodore and his wife, Zachary, sat at her bedside.

Jade and her sister-in-law, Stephanie, were chatting quietly in the living room.

“Mrs. Richards, Lady Stephanie.”

“Yes?” Jade looked up.

“Miss Templeton is here,” the security chief announced.

“Which Miss Templeton?” Jade asked, momentarily confused.

Technically, the Richards and Gonzales families were connected by marriage, and Ann was Freya’s cousin, but Ann herself had no direct ties to the Richards family.

“Schemer is putting it lightly. She’s downright shameless,” Stephanie said, clearly unimpressed. Deep down, she worried that if Freya ever returned, Ann would bully her.

As they spoke, footsteps sounded from the hallway. The two women fell silent.

“Ann’s here,” Stephanie said. Though she wasn’t fond of Ann, for Keira’s sake, she kept her feelings hidden.

“Hello, Stephanie,” Ann greeted politely.

Stephanie nodded, then introduced her. “This is Aunt Jade.”

Ann looked up at Jade, realizing this was the current matriarch of the Richards family.

Despite being well past sixty and already a grandmother, Jade was remarkably well-preserved.

“Hello, Aunt Jade,” Ann said, her manners impeccable.

Jade nodded in approval. “What a lovely young lady.”
