THE DIVORCE GAMBIT From Dumped Wife to CEO's Forever novel Chapter 295

Keira had simply assumed her granddaughter’s friend must be someone Caitlin valued highly. At Ann’s suggestion, she nodded eagerly. “Ann’s right. If this is Freya’s friend, then let’s not keep them waiting—invite them in, quickly!”

At her words, everyone turned toward the entrance, curiosity piqued.

Who, exactly, was Caitlin’s friend?

Ann stood with a smug smile, her eyes gleaming with anticipation.

Just wait, she thought. Caitlin’s about to make a fool of herself.

Before long, the deputy butler arrived, escorting the guests inside.

Three people entered: a well-dressed middle-aged couple, followed by a young woman in an elegant champagne-colored dress.

It was clear at a glance—this was a family.

“My goodness, isn’t that Mr. and Mrs. Hayes? And that’s Miss Hayes with them!”

Someone in the crowd recognized the family immediately.

“The Hayes family? Which Hayes family?”

“Which one do you think? The Hayes family from Port Metropolis, of course. Who else gets called ‘the Hayes family’?”

“Wait, does that mean the Hayes family’s daughter is friends with Miss Freya from the Gonzales family?”

“How is that possible? Wasn’t Miss Freya raised out in the countryside?”

A buzz of speculation swept through the room.

Ann’s expression shifted uneasily.

Caitlin and the Hayes family’s daughter—friends?

No way. Impossible. How could a country girl like Caitlin possibly be friends with someone like that?

Ann licked her dry lips, forcing herself to stay calm.

No, she thought. It couldn’t be. Keira must have arranged this. Caitlin was Hannah’s darling granddaughter, after all. To make her look good, Keira must have orchestrated the whole thing.

Otherwise, how could Caitlin, with her background, ever get close to the Hayes family?

Hannah, no fool herself, understood how important this friend must be to Caitlin. She took Celeste’s hand with a warm smile. “March, is that because you were born in March?”

“Yes, Grandma,” Celeste replied politely.

“March, when the blossoms are out—no wonder you’re as lovely as a spring flower,” Hannah said, making Celeste blush with embarrassment at the compliment.

Next, Caitlin led Celeste around to meet her eight uncles and their wives, then introduced her to all thirteen of her brothers.

Celeste’s eyes widened in awe at the sight of the Richards brothers. The family genes were truly something—each one looked like he could walk off the set of a TV drama as a dashing CEO, and no two were alike in their good looks.

Caitlin introduced each brother in turn, and they all welcomed Celeste as one of their own. “Nice to meet you, March.”

Hearing those handsome brothers call her “little sister” nearly sent Celeste over the moon.

Then Caitlin leaned in conspiratorially. “Oh, and March, this is my eldest sister-in-law.”

Easton Richards’ wife, Mary, was strikingly beautiful, with sharp features and a gentle temperament. She was an only child herself and had long since treated Caitlin as her own sister.

Caitlin whispered with a mischievous grin, “Other than my eldest brother, all twelve of my brothers are single.”
