Wait and see.
One day, she would take back everything that was rightfully hers.
Gonzales Holdings belonged to her—no one else.
Caitlin could dream on if she thought she’d ever steal it away.
Word spread fast. The moment Tammie Gonzales heard that Ann had been thrown out of the estate by Keira, he rushed over without a second thought.
Tammie had originally planned to attend a birthday party that evening. But after his flight was delayed, he missed the whole event.
He already knew the details of what had happened, but Ann was his little sister—the best sister in the world as far as he was concerned. He couldn’t believe Ann would ever stoop so low as to impersonate someone else.
To Tammie, there was only one explanation: Caitlin was scheming against Ann.
Caitlin wanted to use the scandal to make a name for herself online and climb the social ladder on Ann’s back.
Honestly, the whole thing made Tammie sick.
He sat down heavily on the couch, his voice aching with concern. “Ann, you didn’t deserve any of this.”
Ann’s eyes were swollen from crying. “Tammie, honestly, I’m fine. And I don’t blame Freya for any of this. Promise me you won’t go after her. Freya’s just a girl from a small town, no degree, no real skills, already divorced, and she’s twenty years old and still finishing high school. Who knows if she’ll ever make it to college?”
“It’s tough for someone like her to even survive in our world, let alone thrive. Of course she’s going to grab any opportunity she can. If you think about it, she’s actually pretty pitiful. I get where she’s coming from.”
She hesitated for a moment, then added quietly, “Honestly, as her sister, I don’t mind being the stepping stone if it helps her.”
Tammie grew angrier the more Ann tried to defend Caitlin, even after everything she’d been through.
Sure, he could admit that Caitlin had had a rough life before.
But what did her divorce or her age or still being in high school have to do with anyone else? That was all on Caitlin—her own choices.
Tammie snorted. “Delete Twitter? Come on, Ann, don’t be naive. Caitlin set you up to embarrass you in front of everyone, just to boost her own reputation. People like her don’t just walk away from a shot at fame.”
A sly, dangerous glint flashed through Ann’s downcast eyes.
With Tammie on her side, that little country girl Caitlin was in for a world of trouble.

Gordon was just getting ready for bed when his phone buzzed with a new WhatsApp notification.
He unlocked his phone immediately.
When he saw Caitlin’s name pop up, a faint smile played on his lips as he opened her message.
