THE DIVORCE GAMBIT From Dumped Wife to CEO's Forever novel Chapter 443

Raven couldn’t stand Caitlin.

What she really couldn’t wrap her head around was why Gordon would ever confess his feelings to a woman who was, in her mind, secondhand goods—a divorcée, no less.

Other than her looks, what did Caitlin have that Raven didn’t? Was she really so worthless in Gordon’s eyes that he’d rather be with a woman who’d already been married?

She’d loved Gordon for fifteen years. Fifteen years of youth and hope, all wasted on a man who, in the end, was stolen away by someone like Caitlin. She’d waited through her twenties, all the way to thirty, only to watch him slip through her fingers.

As far as Raven was concerned, Caitlin had done it on purpose. She’d deliberately inserted herself into Raven’s hopes, knowing full well who she was after. Everyone in their circle knew how Raven felt about Gordon. Now Caitlin had the nerve to chase after him?

If you wanted to put it nicely, you could say Caitlin had swooped in and stolen Gordon’s heart. If you wanted to be honest, though, she was nothing but a homewrecker—a third party crashing someone else’s love story. If it weren’t for Caitlin, Raven would’ve been with Gordon long ago.

It was all Caitlin’s fault.

So, Raven was determined: at the charity gala the day after tomorrow, she’d make sure Caitlin made a fool of herself. Only then would Gordon see Caitlin’s true colors and finally break things off with her.

After all, Raven was born and bred in the highest tier of the Capital’s elite, the real bluebloods. Making Caitlin look bad in public? Child’s play.

With that thought, Raven’s eyes narrowed with determination. She was going to win—she could feel it in her bones.

Hearing Raven’s orders, the butler bowed respectfully. “Of course, Miss Raven. I’ll make the arrangements right away.”

With the Cartwright family’s status in the Capital, getting an invitation to the Prescott family’s gala was no trouble at all.

The butler left to handle it.

To make sure she’d outshine Caitlin at the event, Raven decided to spend the afternoon at her favorite spa for a facial.

Raven was obsessed with beauty. Every year, she spent a fortune—well into seven figures—on her face alone, and her face was insured for an astronomical sum.

She headed to an exclusive spa frequented by the city’s socialites and wealthy wives. As her luxury car rolled to a stop in front of the entrance, a doorman hurried over with a courteous smile. “Good afternoon, Miss Cartwright.”

Raven tossed him the keys and strode through the doors without a backward glance.

“Welcome, Miss Cartwright,” came the greeting from her personal aesthetician, who appeared almost instantly to escort her inside.

Raven nodded. “Is the doctor ready for me?”

“All set,” the aesthetician replied. “Please, come with me.”

They crossed the grand lobby toward the treatment rooms. Suddenly, Raven spotted a familiar figure and stopped in her tracks.

“Skyler!” she called out.

Skyler Cumming was lounging on a couch, scrolling through his phone. At the sound of her voice, he looked up.
