THE DIVORCE GAMBIT From Dumped Wife to CEO's Forever novel Chapter 454

Cloudpeak.

The famous Cloudpeak Tea comes from here.

Cloudpeak rises 2,890 meters above sea level. Though it’s never been developed, its jagged peaks and curious rock formations make for breathtaking scenery.

Their group made its way up the mountain trail, taking in the view as they climbed.

The weather was perfect—clear skies, with just a hint of a breeze.

Despite the thick forest, visibility was excellent. Spring had already arrived, so everything was budding and blooming—splashes of red flowers and vibrant green grass made the whole world feel fresh and new.

Caitlin was dressed for the day in a black-and-white windbreaker and sturdy hiking boots. She moved nimbly in the middle of the group, pausing now and then to snap photos of particularly striking views. Each time she did, she sent them off to Gordon.

[“I’m just here drowning in paperwork. [image.jpg]”]

Gordon, playing along, sent her a picture of a stack of files littering his desk.

[“Don’t worry, I’ll keep sending you photos. Just get back to me when you’re free.”]

[“Will do.”]

At the very back of the group, Cassidy walked alongside a man.

He wore a mask, but even so, his eyes were striking—narrow and fox-like, the outer corners tilting up just so, framed by thick, dark lashes. He stood out, too, his black windbreaker making him look even taller. Next to Cassidy, who was about five-foot-six, he was at least eight inches taller. Mask or not, he was hard to miss.

This was Cassidy’s cousin, Jimmy Parsons.

Jimmy had always been frail. He could barely lift anything heavier than a book, and even now, at thirty, he still had the delicate, almost ethereal look of someone who’d spent half his life fighting off illness. The slightest chill or misstep, and he’d be down with a cold or, worse, with one of his chronic ailments flaring up again.
