THE DIVORCE GAMBIT From Dumped Wife to CEO's Forever novel Chapter 505

After saying her piece, Campbell turned and strode away with two staff members in tow.

Katrina stared after them, her brows knitted so tightly they almost met. Her face was a storm of anger.

This was outrageous.

Absolutely outrageous!

How in the world had Xavier been training his staff if they dared to talk back to her—the future Mrs. Richards—like this?

Jeanette glanced nervously at Katrina, her anxiety written all over her face. “Katrina, what on earth did Freya say to Xavier? Why would he suddenly turn his back on you, of all people—after everything you did for him?”

Up until now, Jeanette had assumed Xavier was just sulking, and sooner or later he’d come around and apologize. Surely, there was no need to take this little spat so seriously.

But now…

It looked like Xavier truly meant business.

He really wanted them out.

“They’ve got the wrong people. The idiots running this place must have mixed things up,” Katrina huffed.

As far as Katrina was concerned, the hotel was trying to kick out someone else—it had nothing to do with her.

She was Xavier’s girlfriend, for heaven’s sake!

And the woman who saved his life.

Xavier would never treat her like this.

He just wouldn’t.

They had the wrong people, right?

Jeanette frowned, sensing things might not be as simple as Katrina thought.

The Splendor Hotel belonged to the Richards family, and in the past few days, every staff member had treated them with extra respect.

That meant the hotel definitely knew who they were.

Katrina tried to calm herself, repeating in her mind that everything would be fine. She straightened up, looked at Jeanette, and said, “Don’t worry. All we have to do is wait for Xavier to come and apologize to us.”

“And when he does, there’ll be plenty of time to deal with those little minions who just strutted in here.”

But Jeanette’s unease only grew. She glanced at Katrina, her voice wavering, “Katrina, maybe we should pack up our things—just in case, I mean, what if…”

She didn’t finish her sentence, but the implication hung heavily in the air.

What if, in half an hour, the hotel staff really did force them out?

“No need to pack!” Katrina narrowed her eyes and gave a cold laugh. “Let’s see who’s brave enough to cross me!”

She was the one in charge here.

Anyone who dared mess with her would live to regret it.

Jeanette nodded, but her anxiety didn’t fade.

A few minutes later, Jeanette could no longer sit still. Her nerves frayed, she stood up. “Katrina, really, I think we should pack. Just to be safe.”

“If you want to pack, you pack your own things,” Katrina shot her a look, clearly unimpressed. “Mine can stay right where they are.”

She was confident—Xavier would never do something like this to her.

Jeanette licked her dry lips. “You’re sure you don’t want to pack your stuff?”

“Positive.” Katrina’s tone was firm.

“Alright then.” Jeanette lowered her head and began gathering her belongings. “I’ll just pack mine.”

Jeanette had brought a lot and had only just finished when the doorbell rang again.

Thirty minutes were up.

At the sound, Katrina sprang up from the sofa, excitement flickering in her eyes. “This has to be Xavier!”
