Celia couldn’t make sense of it.
Did the thirteen Richards brothers really not know what Caitlin was truly like?
How did they usually interact with her? Were they all just blind to her behavior?
Unless… they were still completely in the dark.
Well, that was about to change.
She was here tonight, and she’d make sure Caitlin showed her true colors in front of the entire Richards family.
After all, the Palmer family’s patriarch had done Old Mr. Richards a great favor back in the day, and since the Palmers were old Western nobility, Celia was naturally seated at the head table.
She and Jennifer followed Bernard and Cyrus through the grand hall.
By now, the seats at the main table were nearly full—family friends, business magnates close to the Richardses, and distant relatives alike.
Another half hour slipped by before the banquet officially began.
The host for the evening was Harland, a well-known primetime anchor from Neon Spire Television and a bona fide celebrity. With his quick wit and charming banter, he had the crowd roaring with laughter before the evening had even properly started.
After a brief introduction, Harland’s voice rang out: “Now, let’s invite tonight’s guest of honor, Hannah, to come up and say a few words.”
Hannah was stunning in a wine-red evening gown. Her silver hair was swept up elegantly, adorned with a delicate red flower just above her ear, and pearl earrings dangled with understated luxury. The flower—a quiet flourish—set off her entire look.
Both the gown and the little red flower had been chosen by Caitlin, and it was clear Hannah was delighted with her ensemble tonight.
