Chapter 100
He hadn’t set any visibility limits–three days, six months–yet his feed remained completely empty.
For someone who never posted, tonight was truly unprecedented…
Lucille set her phone down, turned off the light, and drifted into peaceful sleep.
Next morning, she rose early. Washed up, dressed neatly, then triple–checked her visa documents. After confirming everything was packed, she bid Grandma farewell and took a taxi to the visa center.
Swiped her ID, queued smoothly, completed the interview flawlessly.
When the officer said “Congratulations,” relief flooded through her.
Leaving, the officer added: “You’re amazing. Wishing you a joyful study abroad experience.”
“Thank you.”
Her heart blossomed with joy. She would be happy–deliberately, determinedly happy.
She applied for expedited service, so her passport should arrive within five business days, so she won’t miss taking it to go with Meredith’s dance troupe.
Only 13 days left.
Every day she counts down, she’s like a butterfly that’s regrown its wings, ready to fly off at any moment.
After leaving the visa center, it was still early, she found a spot for coffee, sat quietly for a bit, ate something nearby, then went to the holistic health clinic for more Acupuncture Therapy and rehab.
Today’s rehab was more painful than yesterday’s.
Because of yesterday’s intense session, her whole body ached from head to toe today, even her toes and hair felt sore, and now she had to repeat it.
Just starting, she was already sweating all over, in five minutes, her whole body was soaked.

“If you can’t hold on, just say so, don’t force yourself.”
The nurse reminded her.
Sweating, shaking all over, she nodded, “I know, I’m fine, I can hold on…”
As soon as she finished speaking, with a thud, she fell to the ground.
“Are you okay?”
The nurse rushed to help her, but was shoved aside by a figure.
Lucille was picked up, Cedrick looked at her with worried eyes, “What are you doing?”
Lucille hadn’t the strength to struggle now. Held tight in his arms, she saw storm clouds gathering in his pitch–black eyes.
“What exactly is she doing?”
This time, Cedrick questioned the nurse.
“Sir, she’s undergoing rehabilitation.”
Cedrick’s brow furrowed deeply. “Rehabilitation?
What kind of rehabilitation is this?
Look at her condition–is this healing or harming?”
“Cedrick!”
Lucille gritted her teeth. “This isn’t your concern!”
“If I don’t care for you, who will?”
He snapped, carrying her out without breaking stride.
“Cedrick!”
“Sir, Ms. Radford’s rehab-”
Lucille and the nurse spoke simultaneously, but Cedrick cut them off sharply while walking. “Cancel it!”
“Cedrick, you have no right to decide for me!”
