Chapter 305
Harlan then realized there were only three of them left. Nicole had disappeared at some point.
“That bitch!”
Harlan cursed in anger, “They’re all a bunch of ungrateful scum!”
Harlan texted Nicole: Where are you?
Your mom’s in the hospital. Don’t need me to pay for it anymore?
Nicole didn’t reply.
“This is ridiculous!”
Harlan was so angry he wanted to throw his phone.
“What do we do?”
Maricela started to cry. “Is this all because of me?
Should I not have come back to find you?
If I disappeared, would you all be saved?”
Cedrick was silent, not saying a word.
“Of course it’s not because of you!”
Harlan said, “Don’t always overthink things and take all the blame on yourself.”
Maricela wasn’t comforted by Harlan’s words; she just kept crying.
Harlan sighed and put a hand on Cedrick’s back. “Cedrick, what are you going to do?
Are you really getting a divorce?”
But Cedrick shook his head. “I don’t want a divorce.”
He looked at Harlan pleadingly. “Harlan, is there any way to avoid a divorce?
Help me think of something.”
Harlan and Maricela exchanged a look.
Harlan sighed again. “Then just don’t go tomorrow.”

Cedrick buried his head in his hands, his fingers digging into his hair, his body trembling slightly.

This was the first time they’d ever been sidelined at a banquet!
