“Don’t you play dead, Maricela!”
“If you don’t open this door, I’m calling the cops!
And telling them you took bribes!”
“No, this isn’t taking bribes! This is fraud!”
Harlan finally rolled down the window. “What the hell are you talking about? When did she ever defraud you?”
The women sneered. “Ha, she tricked us! Said she was a classmate of Leo’s, used her position as your company’s executive assistant as a front, and promised to take care of our families if the collaboration with Leo was successful!”
What are you if not a scammer?”
“Ha. you took our stuff. Forget the bags and lipsticks, you’re going to spit out every meal you ate on us!”
Harlan had no idea what was going on. He looked back at Maricela’s expression and knew instantly that these people weren’t lying.
“Harlan… I really thought our partnership would work out. Isn’t this just normal business?”
Maricela said timidly.
“You call scamming people ‘business dealings“?
Get out here!
If you don’t get out, I’m smashing this car!”
The woman banged on the car window.
Maricela carefully cracked the window open, but a hand immediately reached in from outside and grabbed her hair
Maricela screamed in pain.
But the girls had no intention of letting her go, and instead pulled even tighter.
Harlan yelled and got out of the car to help, when a car screeched up beside them. Before it even stopped, several men in black jumped out, blocked Harlan’s way, and started beating him without a word.
Harlan couldn’t even protect himself, and as for Maricela, someone was yanking her hair, pulling her out, while another reached in and opened the car door.
Maricela was dragged out of the car.
“Give it back!
Give back the money!
You liar!”
