Chapter 85
Lucille said nothing more, walking past him.
Dinner was lavish. While she napped with Grandma that afternoon, he’d prepared everything. Now Grandma just needed to stir–fry in the kitchen.
Lucille merely lingered by the kitchen door when Grandma shooed her out.
She smiled helplessly. Grandma would never let her dear little darling lift a finger.
Returning to the living room, she tidied the dining table. Her phone vibrated then, chiming with a notification.
Settling on the sofa, she saw Meredith messaging to confirm details for team flight bookings.
After checking, she verified everything.
Meredith chatted about other things, their casual talk stretching half an hour until Cedrick emerged from the shower.
Hearing the door, Lucille quickly bid Meredith goodbye. Her finger swiped left, deleting all chat history.
Cedrick approached just then, clearly witnessing her gesture.
“What did you delete?”
Frowning, he moved closer. Drops fell from his hair onto a T–shirt and sweatpants.
She locked her screen nonchalantly. “Nothing.”
Unconvinced, he extended his hand. “Give it here.”
“Cedrick.”
Her whisper held defiance. “You have no right to interfere with my conversations.”
“Oh?”
He sat down, pressing against her.

So he could do as he pleased.
“Let me go!”
Struggling uselessly, she sank her teeth into his shoulder, biting hard.
“Lucille, are you a dog?”
Pain tightened his brow, but his arms stubbornly held her waist, brushing against her phone.
Her eyes shot daggers: Release me, and I’ll release you.
Lucille
But he had no intention of letting go. Worse still, he pinned her waist with one arm while pressing her head down with the other, kissing her ears and cheeks relentlessly.
She finally relented, glancing toward the kitchen as she hissed, “Cedrick, have you no shame?”
Cedrick knew where her eyes darted but leaned closer to her lips, murmuring, “Why should I be ashamed?
So what if Grandma sees?
You’re my wife. What’s wrong with this?”
Lucille snapped. She slapped his face, shoving him away. Yet in that instant, her grip loosened and the phone in her other hand was snatched by him.
He didn’t release her despite the slap. Instead, he pinned her down, unlocking the phone with her face.
He scrolled through her WhatsApp, flipping past rows of chats before pausing. His eyes

Cedrick flung the phone back at her with a cold laugh. “What filthy secrets did you wipe clean?
