Chapter 1083
Shaun didn’t even bother to look at Sienna again. “Take her away!”
With that, Sienna was escorted out.
Zada no longer felt an ounce of sympathy for her. In her eyes, Sienna finally got what she deserved. She turned to Halsey and said, “Sienna’s gone. It’s finally over.”
Shaun replied, “I’ll have the Lane Corporation’s lawyers press charges against her. She’s never getting out again.
Then, he placed his hand gently over Halsey’s belly. “Are you okay?”
Halsey smiled softly. “Yeah. I’m fine, and so is the baby.”
Shaun frowned slightly. “I didn’t agree to this plan at first. You’re almost seven months along. You and the baby can’t afford even the slightest risk.” 1
The whole “trap within a trap” plan had been Halsey’s idea. Shaun had opposed it from the start because it was far too dangerous. With someone as unstable as Sienna, there was no telling what she might do. All he ever wanted was for Halsey and the baby to stay safe.
But Halsey had insisted, so Shaun respected her decision and worked with her to pull it off. The three of them played their parts perfectly and sent Sienna straight to prison.
Halsey smiled faintly. “Sienna came after me first. What goes around comes around, so I had to be the one to end this myself. Zada, thank you for helping me.”
Zada squeezed her hand. “No, I should thank you. You helped me see who Sienna really was! Otherwise, I’d still be helping her while she stabbed me in the back.”
Shaun said, “Alright, that’s enough about her. It’s all over now. We’ve got our own plans to handle.”
Halsey looked at him curiously. “Our plans? What plans?”
Zada covered her mouth, trying not to laugh. “Your belly’s getting bigger every day. Mr. Lane is talking about planning your wedding!”
Shaun slipped his arm around Halsey’s shoulders and pulled her close. “Yeah, it’s time for us to get married.”
Halsey’s heart filled with warmth. “Okay.”
Halsey spent the next few days at home, resting and regaining her energy. Meanwhile, Shaun was completely focused on organizing the wedding.
One morning, Shaun stayed home instead of going to work. Holding Halsey in his arms, he said, “Our big day’s coming up soon. Wanna go get your nails done?”
Halsey stretched out her hand. Her fingers were long and smooth like polished ivory.

course, she wanted to look her best.
“Sure,” she said with a smile. “Let’s go today.”
Shaun grabbed his car keys. “Come on. I’ll drive.”
Half an hour later, they arrived at a cozy nail salon downtown. The manicurist greeted them warmly. “Ms. Mallin, what kind of style would you like today?”
Halsey asked, “Do you have any recommendations?”
“Of course.”
The manicurist opened a photo book and started showing her different designs.
Halsey turned to Shaun. “Which one do you like?”
Shaun pointed to one. “What about this pink one?”
Halsey’s lips curved up. “Yeah, that’s pretty. Let’s go with that.”
The manicurist smiled. “That pink crystal design is very feminine and sweet–perfect for you, Ms. Mallin. It matches your bright, charming style.”
Another manicurist giggled. “They say when a man’s in love, he loves everything about his woman! Since Mr. Lane’s in love with Ms. Mallin, of course, he would pick her favorite style!”
Halsey looked at Shaun, who raised an eyebrow slightly but didn’t deny it.

She usually didn’t bother with manicures, but her wedding was one of the most important days of her life. Of course, she wanted to look her best.
“Sure,” she said with a smile. “Let’s go today.”
Shaun grabbed his car keys. “Come on. I’ll drive.”
