The Heartbreak Prescription (Stanley and Wendy) novel Chapter 1087

Wendy jumped in surprise. Who was it?

When she turned around, Stanley’s handsome face came sharply into view.

He had chased after her again.

Wendy tried to pull her arm away. What are you doing? Let me go!

He frowned slightly. I’m not letting go.

Let go of me! Ah!Wendy yelped as Stanley suddenly leaned down and tried to lift her over his shoulder.

Worried about the babies, she panicked. Struggling hard, she cried, Don’t carry me like that! Put me down! Hey!

Seeing her resist, Stanley quickly changed his hold. He scooped her up in his arms instead and carried her toward his sleek black car. He opened the back door and set her inside.

Wendy tried to get out, but Stanley climbed in right after her and caught her wrist. Stop it.

She froze and glared at him. You’re the one who needs to stop.1

Stanley pulled her close against his chest. It’s okay. I’m not in pain.

He said he wasn’t in pain, but that couldn’t be true.

Wendy knew he was lying. The Heartchain Curse caused unbearable sufferingpain no normal person could take. That curse had been brought back from the border by Ida, who practiced dark magic. There was no way Wendy could undo it in such a short time.

Being in his arms again, she caught the familiar clean scent of himlike sandalwood and fresh air. It was comforting and strange at the same time.

Wendy pressed a hand against his chest. Nothing’s more important than your life. I want you to take care of yourselfmmph!

Before she could finish, Stanley leaned down and kissed her.

Her words disappeared against his lips.

Stanley-she gasped, but he deepened the kiss before she could say anything more.

His breath and his warmth surrounded her. She wanted to pull away, but it was impossible.

Her body went weak. Even though her mind told her to stay calm, her body refused to listen. She still loved his touch. She still loved being close to him.

They already had a daughter together, and Stanley knew every little reaction she had. He wrapped an arm around her waist and pulled her onto his lap.

He kissed her again, his hand moving to unbutton her blouse.

Wendy’s senses snapped back. She grabbed his wrist in panic. What are you doing? Are you out of your mind? Stop!

He looked at her flushed face and hazy eyes, his voice low and teasing. You really want me to stop?

Yes!she said quickly.

But your body says otherwise.

He tried to undo another button.

Let go of me! We’re in a carwhat the hell are you doing?

He asked hoarsely, Do you miss me? Tell me, do you?
