The Luna Marked with Lies The Queen Crowned novel Chapter 31

“So, what do you think? I know it’s rough, but I’d really love to hear your thoughts,” After the song was played, I nervously asked Rolin’s opinion

It’s almost interview day and my nerves are on edge.

Rolin pondered, his expression unreadable.

After a long wait, he seemed to have something in mind and smiled as he locked eyes with me.

“Elizabeth, don’t hate me for being honest, but these music… they’re not quite meet my standard.”

I nodded, bracing myself for the sting of rejection.

But to my surprise, instead of dismissing me, he waved me over to sit beside him.

“Don’t get me wrong,” Rolin said quickly, noticing my crestfallen expression.

“That’s really impressive considering you haven’t played in years. I didn’t think you’d be this good after all this time. Your playing technique is great, you’re just missing something.”

“Missing something?I echoed.

“Yeah,” he said, leaning back in his chair. “They’re good, but they lack that spark. That unique touch that used to set you apart. Technically, they are sound, but they’re missing your personality.

But now, it suddenly struck me that dinner with Leo wasn’t as important as my music.

After all, Rolin hadn’t outright rejected me; there was still a chance.

In that moment, I understood why Leo had stood me up time and again. It wasn’t just because of Aria; it was because there were things more important to him than being with me.

I was never his first choice.

“Fine,” I finally said. “Lead the way.”
