Chapter 288 Fk you, Kyle
Mia’s POV
I raised an eyebrow. This little girl was the most honest person in this entire group of adults.
Victoria didn’t deserve her daughter.
“Madison, be quiet,” Victoria hissed again. Her fingers gripped Madison’s thin shoulder tightly.
“I didn’t lie, Mommy. The lady pushed Alexander first. I saw it.”
Victoria’s voice dropped. “Stop talking right now.”
Madison’s tears began streaming down her cheeks.
“I didn’t lie,” her small voice breaking. “I didn’t lie.”
Victoria raised her hand slightly, and Madison flinched instinctively, her small body curling in.
That was enough.
“Victoria,” I said sharply, my voice cutting through the murmur of the gathered crowd. “Thomas is on his way over here. Do you really want him to see you threatening a six–year–old?”
Victoria’s hand froze mid–air. Her eyes darted toward the crowd, searching for Thomas’s familiar figure.
And that’s when I saw them approaching.
Not just Thomas and Nate, who were making their way through the crowd with Alexander and Ethan c‘ behind them. But Morton too, his face grim with barely controlled anger as he took in the scene before him.
And Kyle.
Maxwell. Whatever the hell he was calling himself these days.
Taylor’s face lit up the moment she spotted him. Her entire body language shifted, becoming more animated, more radiant. She was like a flower turning toward the sun.
“Jackson!” she called out sweetly. “Perfect timing, darling.”
Her laughter crawled over me like slime.
She turned to look at me with malicious satisfaction sparkling in her eyes. “These two naughty little boys bumped into poor Ketty,” she said, her voice dripping with false concern. “And then their mother became violent when Ketty simply asked for an apology.”
I felt Alexander’s small hand slip into mine, his fingers gripping tightly. Ethan moved closer to my other side.
“That’s not true,” Alexander said clearly, his young voice carrying surprising strength. “Adults lying is worse than children lying.”
Ethan nodded solemnly “Lying is what cowards do when they’re scared of the truth.”

I had already decided not to get involved in this circus anymore.
These people could play their twisted games without me.
I found myself staring at Kyle.
Maxwell.
Whatever mask he was wearing tonight.
This was his son. These were his children.
Alexander and Ethan stood beside me, their small faces turned up toward the father they didn’t recognize.
I wanted to see how he reacts.
The air around me seemed to thin until I could barely breathe. My chest felt tight.
I wasn’t breathing normally. I was just waiting.
The seconds stretched like hours. The party continued around us, music playing, glasses clinking, conversations flowing.
Taylor’s smile grew wider as she watched Kyle’s face, clearly expecting him to side with her version of events.
Kyle looked down at Alexander and Ethan with those cold gray eyes.
“Let’s go.
I felt something snap inside me.
I lunged forward and punched Kyle square in the jaw with every ounce of strength I possessed.
The impact sent shockwaves up my arm, but I didn’t care. The satisfying crack of my knuckles against his face was worth any pain.
Kyle stumbled backward several steps, his hand flying to his jaw.
“Mia!” Morton’s voice was sharp.
“Get out of the way,” I snarled at him.
No one dared to approach me after that.
I didn’t care.
I walked up to Kyle, close enough that I could see the red mark forming on his jaw where my fist had connected. Close enough to look directly into those gray eyes that had once been my entire world.
“Kyle,” I said, my voice deadly quiet. “I don’t care what your reasons are. I don’t care what game you’re playing or what lies you’ve told yourself to justify this.”
I leaned closer, my voice dropping to barely above a whisper. “Tell me now. Acknowledge your sons. Or I will
