“Either way works.” Jessica nodded casually.
Brian, though, grabbed a cantaloupe and started peeling it for her. “Have some fruit to tide first. If it’s not enough, I’ll go up and get a couple more packs of snacks.”

Jessica rolled her eyes. “I’m not that big of an eater.”
‘I’m not some glutton who can’t handle a little hunger,‘ she thought.
But Brian didn’t seem to care. While they waited for things to start, he kept sneaking bites to her whenever he got the chance.
Lillian, who’d been chatting with Jessica, watched with clear envy.
“Look at Mr. Atkinson,” Lillian said, growing more envious by the second. She elbowed her boyfriend, Chase, who was standing behind her.
“I tried peeling one for you earlier, but you said you were dieting and didn’t want any,” Chase shot back, not too nicely.
“Well, you should’ve asked again,” Lillian said, unreasonable.
“You already said no. Why would I ask again?” Chase thought Lillian was being ridiculous.
“You…” Lillian glared at Chase.
“Alright, the card table’s ready. Let’s get to playing.” Raymond, worried they’d start bickering on camera and make a bad impression on the audience, quickly stepped in to change the subject.
“Hmph.” Chase stuffed his hands in his pockets and headed upstairs.
“Jessi, look at him! How can he be so childish?” Lillian huffed, complaining to Jessica.
“Come on, don’t be mad.” Jessica soothed her gently and let Brian help her up as they followed Lillian upstairs.
“Ladies first. For the first round, let’s have the four ladies play. The guys can stand by and give tips from the sidelines. Sound good? Raymond announced loudly.
“Fine by me.” “Whatever.” “Sure.” Jessica and the other ladies answered one after another.
“I don’t need any sideline tips,” Lillian insisted, still upset with Chase.

Raymond didn’t push it. “Great, no objections. Then I declare tonight’s friendly card game officially
started.”
With that, Raymond turned back to the cameramen, pulled up his laptop, and quickly typed a notice on the live stream: [No bets involved. Purely a friendly game. Please do not imitate.]
His need to cover his bases was pretty obvious.
The new viewers flooding in nearly laughed themselves silly when they saw that, and the comments
were full of “LOLs“.
[LOL]
[Classic Raymond, always so quick to cover his bases.]
[Can you blame him? He finally got these big names on the show. If it got taken down over a card game, that’d be a real joke.]
[LOL, so funny.]
[The more think about it, the funnier it is. This show’s got so many funny moments.]
[Tell me about it. I’ve got a feeling that this one’s gonna blow up.]
[It already has. Go check the trending hashtags.]
While viewers were cracking up, Raymond stared at the climbing hashtags on the trends list, grinning so wide that his teeth showed but his eyes crinkled shut.
“I’ll play this one too.” At the card table, Sabrina dropped a card with a blank look.
Jessica perked up when she saw it, playing a card right back. “I won this hand.”
Sabrina’s expression got even stiffer.
Vanessa smiled and praised, “Jessi, you’ve got such good cards. I wish I could win too.”
But the next second, Vanessa split up the cards that would’ve let her win, playing them one by one.
Live stream viewers saw that and instantly caught on. Sabrina and Vanessa had no clue how to play.
[Ms. Benson acted so convincingly. I thought she was a card shark. Who knew…]
[A total newbie, LOL. She fed Ms. Grant so many winning cards. Killing me.]
[Lillian’s so lucky to be teamed with Ms. Grant.]
